Speaking your TRUTH when you're FRUSTRATED and ANGRY at the WORLD
Speaking your TRUTH when you're FRUSTRATED and ANGRY at the WORLD
Support us in creating more films like this : http://www.patreon.com/reflectionsoflife Thank you. Justine & Michael 💚 There comes a moment in life when the quiet murmur of unspoken truths grows too loud to ignore. It starts as a faint flicker, a fragile thought on the edge of awareness, and then builds into something undeniable — a need to give voice to what matters most. The courage to speak out can sometimes feel like a rebellion against the silence that so often surrounds us. Finding that voice is a powerful act, one that transcends words and becomes a declaration of self. Whether through action, expression, or the simple act of standing firm, it’s a reminder that truth carries the strength to inspire change. It is in daring to speak, to share, that we discover not just our voice, but its ability to ripple outward and connect us all. Featuring Harry Owen (Website - https://harryowen.co.za). Filmed in Platbos Forest, Western Cape, South Africa (https://platbos.co.za) The poems read in this film are as follows: Blessing - written by Harry Owen The Journey - written by Mary Oliver Epiphany - written by Harry Owen What I Wish For You - written by Harry Owen All of our films are made possible through the generous support of our patrons. We are Justine and Michael (previously known as Green Renaissance). We use our passion for filmmaking and our love of storytelling, to remind our audience of one simple truth – that we are all human. The more that we understand and believe in this interconnectedness, the more we will treat ourselves, one another, and planet earth with a greater sense of compassion. In collaboration with iNous, we recently released a beautiful deck of 52 cards - each card containing a quote from one of our films, paired with the activating visual muses of Lanon Prigge. The aim of this deck is to rekindle child-like curiosity and creativity, helping to navigate the shared waters of our human experience with grace and joy. You might imagine standing on a wide-open plain with a storm approaching, or holding the tiny finger of a newborn baby. That word, awe - the feeling of being in the presence of something vast that transcends your understanding of the world - is often associated with the extraordinary. But you don’t need remarkable circumstances to encounter awe. You can find it every day, often in the humblest places. Staring up at a starry sky; looking at a sculpture that makes you shudder; listening to a medley of instruments joining into one complex, spine-tingling melody - those experiences remind us that we’re part of something that will exist long after us. Luckily, we don’t need to wait until we stumble upon it - we can seek it out. Awe is all around us. With a little intentionality, we can reclaim our sense of wonder in the everyday, ordinary moments of life. Perhaps awe, while an ordinary response to the extraordinary, is also an extraordinary response to the ordinary. Featuring Dot Fisher-Smith. Filmed in Ashland, Oregon, USA.
