In 1867, Rev.Chrysostom, the second pastor of Fourteen Holy Helpers', took a census of the parish community. The information contained below is given as shown in this census. The spelling of some family names may be slightly different that by which we know the descendants today.
The men listed in these pages are men who served in New York Units during the Spanish-American War of 1898. For each man you will find a name, the regiment he served in, the volume the regiment appears in and the page the man is listed on. The volume refers to New York in the Spanish-American War 1898 (prepared by the New York State Adjutant General's Office. Albany: J.B. Lyon, State printer, 1900).

This cemetery was located across from McDonald's (on the north side of the street) on Buffalo Street in Gowanda, NY. At some point in the past, the cemetery was plowed over and the stones discarded.
The Harris Cemetery is located on south Jennings Road, near Conger and is a Quaker cemetery. It was noted in an article by "Alnorca" in 1933. The cemetery is now abandoned.
