The intention of this site is to compile documentation on what is known, or thought to be known, about URR and related activities in Western New York, and to encourage further research. Presently available only through the Internet Wayback Machine.

The men listed in these pages are men who served in New York Units during the Spanish-American War of 1898. For each man you will find a name, the regiment he served in, the volume the regiment appears in and the page the man is listed on. The volume refers to New York in the Spanish-American War 1898 (prepared by the New York State Adjutant General's Office. Albany: J.B. Lyon, State printer, 1900).
Revolutionary War Veterans Buried in Western New York
All 140 names and birth & death dates from a handwritten card file in the Research Library in the Buffalo History Museum. Most are in Erie County, with a handful of names from Niagara and nearby counties.
Microfilm of original volumes at the Erie County Courthouse in Buffalo, New York, scanned and browsable online. There is no name-searching capability so you have to click on a volume and read page by page, just like you would if you were doing this research in person in the County Clerk's office.

This database is a collection of marriage records from the state prior to 1784. Each record contains the names of both bride and groom and marriage date, with the earliest marriage dating to 1660. Reference information is also provided to aid the researcher in obtaining the original record.
