BART has agreed to give Berkeley a 1.7-acre parking lot as part of a community benefits deal for housing at the Ashby station.

On Wednesday night, many commissioners expressed support for 9-story projects, if not taller, at the North Berkeley and Ashby BART stations.

Berkeley City Council approved of the single largest investment to affordable housing–for a project to be located near two BART stations.
