Our family’s history in the seafood business goes back to the late 1700s. Our grandfather, Moses Milliken, was born in 1793 in Brunswick County, North Carolina – he was the first to make a living fishing and gathering oysters to feed his family from the sea. Our grandfather, AL Milliken, started the first oyster shucking house in Brunswick County and our father, Lloyd Milliken, opened Lloyd's Oyster House back in the 60's in Shallotte and runs it to this day. The history of the Milliken family in the seafood business in North Carolina spans for centuries.

PERFECT DOUGH & LOCAL ROOTS While working at an area restaurant, Chris Efaw was introduced to a local business owner looking to get out of the business. After acquiring his first pick-up and delivery-only location off of Hwy 9, he began on a quest to develop the perfect pie.

After experimenting with different dough recipes, Chris was finally satisfied with the dough that would prove to be the base of his phenomenal recipes. After years of success, he moved into his second location down the street, and after 3 years, the demand for his product grew to a point where he was able to move to his current location.

After his years in the industry, we know that without the special residents and local support we have received, we would not be where we are today. That’s why at Chris’ Pizza & Pub, our customers are our greatest ingredient.

The Tavern In The Forest has been a place where friends meet for decades. In December 2019, a few Myrtle Beach locals decided to buy the restaurant and give it a bit of a facelift.
