"Chlorine dioxide gas is completely safe on stainless steel, unlike some widely used liquid chlorine dioxide solutions, whose acidic byproducts are corrosive against stainless steel." "Chlorine dioxide gas is potentially explosive at extremely high concentrations in a dry environment with an ignition source. " "One of the first commercial uses of our CD gas was to sterilize implantable contact lenses. " " Chlorine dioxide is used for the treatment of drinking water in many municipalities and also for the treatment of foods, where the use of a carcinogen would not be allowed. Formaldehyde is a confirmed human carcinogen by most international health agencies and hydrogen peroxide is a confirmed animal carcinogen"

Deodorant [for body odor] - Google Patents
"deodorant and a disinfectant used for a human body and having a superior deodorizing effect than conventional deodorants, particularly a deodorant and a disinfectant used for the human body quicker in drying than the conventional deodorants, giving no uncomfortable feeling when in use and suppressing a decrease in the effect caused by moisture.SOLUTION: The deodorant for the human body contains chlorine dioxide and a volatile substance, particularly contains chlorine dioxide and ethanol." " a human body deodorant composed mainly of an aqueous solution of chlorine dioxide has a problem that it feels unusable for daily use" "the deodorant of the present invention contains chlorine dioxide at a concentration of at least 1 ppm, 30 ppm and 100 ppm or more. Moreover, as a volatile substance used for the deodorizer of this invention, arbitrary volatile substances well-known to those skilled in the art can be used. In the deodorizer of the present invention, for example, alcohol such as ethanol and methanol can be used as a volatile substance. Moreover, the deodorizer of this invention can use ethers, such as a dimethyl ether, as a volatile substance. Volatile materials can be used at any concentration, but are used at concentrations that are more easily volatilized when compared to water when sprayed and applied to the human body. For example, when ethanol is used as a volatile substance, it is used at a concentration of 50%, 60% and 70% or more. In particular, when ethanol is used as a volatile substance, by using it at a concentration at which a disinfecting effect by ethanol is obtained, not only a deodorizing and disinfecting effect by chlorine dioxide but also an effect by ethanol is expected. Ethanol is known to have a high disinfecting effect when used at concentrations of 60% and 70% and above."

Influence of the Tetrachlorodecaoxygen Anion Complex on Phagocytosis of Peripheral Human Polymorphonuclear Cells in Chemiluminescence Assays
Influence of the Tetrachlorodecaoxygen Anion Complex on Phagocytosis of Peripheral Human Polymorphonuclear Cells in Chemiluminescence Assays
"Topically, the tetrachlorodecaoxygen anion complex (TCDO) has a therapeutic effect in wound healing [2, 9] with an increase of pO2 in the capillary blood [3] and systematically in experimental infections [1], It constitutes a negatively charged complex of chlorine and oxygen (Cl4O10)n, MWn=1 = 301.8. Incubation with hemoproteins leads to complex degradation and the appearance of oxygen water in chloride [4], whereby toxic oxygen species are not formed [8]. Heme-ac-tivated TCDO was described to be bactericidal for a number of microbial species [6, 7], to enhance phagocytosis by resident peritoneal macrophages of mice [7], and to stimulate humoral and cellular immunity [1]."

"63 transcutaneous measurements of oxygen pressure and 36 series of infrared thermograms in 9 hypoxic wounds showed that topical administration of tetrachlorine decaoxide (TCDO) results in increased oxygen supply of the wound. This effect is associated with improvement of the skin temperature and decrease of the pathological temperature difference between the wound and the surrounding tissue. TCDO can induce physiological wound healing, since it improves the mechanisms of the immune defence system, wound cleansing, granulation, and epithelialization in slow-healing wounds."

A randomized controlled phase IIb wound healing trial of cutaneous leishmaniasis ulcers with 0.045% pharmaceutical chlorite (DAC N-055) with and without bipolar high frequency electro-cauterization versus intralesional antimony in Afghanistan - BMC Infectious Diseases
"In 1986, a randomized controlled trial (RCT) has shown that moist dressing with a sodium chlorite (NaClO2)-based drug is beneficial for rapid wound cleansing and granulation [3]. If not further concentrated under vacuum (which is commonly practiced with industrial NaClO2), pharmaceutical chlorite contains a chlorine peroxide contaminant, formerly called tetradecachlorooxygen (TCDO), a chemical name refuted by the German Health Authorities [4]. The chlorine peroxide seems to be important for systemic regenerative effects in stem cell compartments of rats [5],[6]. Recent advances in bacterial heme protein biochemistry [7],[8] have reformed our understanding of chlorite biochemistry [9] showing that in vivo reactions of chlorite with heme analogues can either produce hypochlorite, which in turn can react with H2O2 to form singlet oxygen 1O2, or which can dismutate to Cl- and 1O2. In animal experiments with non-thermal (NTP) [10] or cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) [11] lower μM levels 1O2 have shown to induce wound healing."

Comparison between Role of Honey Dressing and Oxoferin (Tetrachlorodecaoxide) Dressing In the Management of Infected Wounds in Diabetic Amputated Limbs | Annals of Punjab Medical College (APMC)
Introduction: Diabetic ulcer is a very common entity encountered in the general surgical practice. The problem needs keen interest and meticulous wound care for its management to prevent serious complications of these infected and gangrenous ulcers. Objective: The objective of the study was to compare the efficacy of honey dressing and oxoferin (tetrachlorodecaoxide) dressing in the management of infected wounds in diabetic amputated limbs. Study Design: Randomized clinical trial. Setting: Surgical Unit-IV of Districted head quarter hospital Faisalabad. Subjects and Methods: The total sample size comprises of 98 patients were divided into two groups A and B. Group A was treated with honey dressing while group B was treated With oxoferin (tetrachlorodecaoxide) dressingArea of the wounds to be dressed was measured in two largest dimensions and noted in cm. Sterile gauzes soaked in commercially available tube packed honey and oxoferin (tetrachlorodecaoxide) solution were applied over the wounds. Outcome of the both methods were assessed by measuring of the size of the wound at presentation and then after one week. Results: Significant decrease in wound size in oxoferin group was in 24 patients (49 %) and in honey group was in 11 patients (22.4 %) Conclusion: Although the clinical experience detailed in this study showed better results to oxoferin as compare to honey dressing, more quality randomised controlled trials are needed to provide evidence to encourage the use of honey in wound care.
