Humidifier vs Diffuser: Which One Should You Buy
"ABS plastic is used in the production of diffusers because they are made out of oil-based resources and boast of a much higher melting point (more temperature resistant) than PP plastic. As such, they cannot be broken down or corroded by the acidic chemical composition of some essential oils." "Plastic aside, other components of a diffuser like the metal atomizer and absorption rings are specifically designed to withstand the corrosiveness of essential oils." "Diffusers are much more powerful than humidifiers. They break down essential oils into an ultra-thin fragranced mist that's easily dispersed over a wider distance for longer periods. The cool or warm mist generated by humidifiers from the vaporization of water molecules is only able to travel over shorter distances. This low dispersion range is because humidifiers usually have larger atomizer, which subsequently produces bigger, thicker, and heavier mist concentration."

Aug 2020. "Approval came in the form of an emergency exemption and is only valid in Texas, but is expected to be approved in other states shortly. EPA also gave approval for a use in two Texas healthcare facilities." "Airlines has been using another electrostatic spray on planes for the last few months, but those haven’t been given EPA approval to kill COVID-19. Southwest also uses an antimicrobial spray that it says last 30 days but, again, those products haven’t been vetted by the EPA for claims of longevity." "EPA expects SurfaceWise2 to eventually be available for commercial purchase." "Expects other states and airlines to apply for approval" "While the coronavirus is primarily spread through the air, tests have shown that during flu season, flu germs can be found on more than 30% of surfaces in public areas."

Triethylene glycol
Triethylene glycol
**Another safe chemical for airborne disinfection** Triethylene glycol, TEG, or triglycol is a colorless odorless viscous liquid with molecular formula HOCH2CH2OCH2CH2OCH2CH2OH. It is used as a plasticizer for vinyl polymers. It is also used in air sanitizer products, such as "Oust"[1] or "Clean and Pure". When aerosolized it acts as a disinfectant. Glycols are also used as liquid desiccants for natural gas and in air conditioning systems. It is an additive for hydraulic fluids and brake fluids and is used as a base for "smoke machine" fluid in the entertainment industry.
