Therefore, I decided to choreograph it by myself. The first thing to do was to shoot a video reference or act it out, to figure out the basic choreography. Since we didn't have any mocap or stunt footages available for this particular section of the sequence,this was the first thing to do. I asked my professional pillow fighter bro DICCO, the great 😂 to come to my place on a weekend and help me shoot some reference footage as it was impossible to act out the actions just by myself. We ended up having an intense pillow fight competition instead, ha haa... which turned out to be more fun than I expected…eventhough I almost broke my back in the process 🥴 Maybe we should do it more often! Simone @simonecirillo94 did a fantastic job of adding weight and a sense of urgency to our white rabbit in his animation. He also animated the floor and shadows in perspective, no easy task. As we take to the sky with our beloved lightning monk, we honour the iconic “Kanada style” of animation. This is typically known for its extreme character poses and perspectives without breaking the illusion of form and space, something @wabbla was able to capture perfectly in his dynamic drawings. The explosion is a combination of traditional 2d FX and painted BG FX. @2nstep boards gave us the perfect foundation to create this scene which we're all really proud of at The Line. When I got the script, the unexpected feeling of excitement, and nervousness was an understatement. This was my second time that I got to work alongside with the legends at @ninocstudio . I’m forever honored for this opportunity, and it is the highlight in my animation career! I learned so much from this project, implementing all of those valuable knowledge for my current & next rodeo. The animation team were also STACKED with talented & animation idols that I look up to. Jeremy & the awesome team made sure to keep the animation timing as close with the rough animatic I laid out. Their work really blew my mind.
