With a federal election underway, The Canadian Press looked at several claims from a list making the rounds on social media about Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre's voting record and actions

Pierre Poilievre has staked out policies for his Conservative Party of Canada in stark opposition to those of the ruling Liberals ahead of this year's federal election, but social media users claim a screenshot of his voting record proves he sided with the government on hundreds of parliamentary motions. This is misleading; the statistic represents the total number of motions approved by Parliament regardless of party sponsor and legislative records show Poilievre voted against most Liberal proposals since the 2021 election.

Since Mark Carney became a candidate for the leadership of the Liberal Party of Canada, images appearing to show him with Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein and Klaus Schwab have circulated on social media. However, several of those pictures include watermarks and warped physical characteristics, which are strong indicators that they were generated by artificial intelligence.

That culture (ideas, religious beliefs, values, etc.) is in the last instance determined by one’s position in a class or social hierarchy.
