És un esport tan plural, tan complex, tan personal, tan original… que no és possible etiquetar-lo mai. Es viu o no es viu, un té la sensació o no la té. El terme “cicloturisme” engloba totes les formes de ciclisme recreacional, no competitiu, tots els àmbits d’utilització de la bicicleta en constant recerca. És l’esport que es fa sense presses (no s’ha d’arribar el primer enlloc), sense premis (la satisfacció es troba a cada pedalejada). És l’esport en què no s’intenta imitar el ciclisme d’alta competició, i s’hi cerca, moltes vegades, l’autosuficiència. És un dels majors plaers que proporciona la bicicleta. No és important quants de quilòmetres es fan, ni amb quin temps, sinó com i per on es va. L’autèntic cicloturisme comença bastant abans de la primera pedalejada, preparant els itineraris, estudiant els mapes, parlant, acumulant informació, estudiant els llocs, les formes de menjar i dormir, preparant el material i la bicicleta, posant-se físicament a punt… El cicloturisme, més que un esport, és un cert estil, una certa concepció i una certa filosofia de la vida. És una combinació indivisible entre home i màquina. És sinònim de llibertat i d’independència. Ens ajuda a redescobrir sensacions perdudes del nostre món intern, a retrobar els plaers més intensos, i a connectar i a interpretar el nostre entorn i la realitat de la vida. És una font inesgotable de satisfaccions variades per a totes les edats. Tampoc no està renyit amb el concepte de família, ja que aquest meravellós enginy mecànic es revela també com una ferramenta d’unió familiar. Avui en dia és habitual la imatge de les parelles amb els seus fills, que comparteixen les emocions d’una passejada amb bicicleta. Il est assez difficile de donner une définition précise du cyclisme. C'est un sport si divers, si complexe, si personnel, si original ... il n'est pas possible d'étiqueter jamais. Est-vivants ou non, avoir le sentiment ou ne pas avoir. Le terme «vélo» englobe toutes les formes de cyclisme récréatif et non compétitif, tous les niveaux de l'utilisation du vélo dans les recherches en cours. C'est le sport qui est sans hâte (ne pas obtenir le premier n'importe où) sans prix (chaque satisfaction est pedalejada). C'est le sport qui ne cherche pas à imiter la compétition de cyclisme et de recherche, souvent auto-suffisance. Un des plus grands plaisirs que procure la bicyclette. Il n'est pas important combien de kilomètres sont, ni ce temps, mais où et comment. La vraie tournée commence bien avant la première pedalejada, la préparation des itinéraires, étudier les cartes, parler, la collecte d'informations, l'étude des lieux, des façons de manger et de dormir, préparer l'équipement et des vélos, obtenant physiquement prêt ... Faire du vélo, plus qu'un sport, c'est un certain style, une certaine conception et une certaine philosophie de la vie. Il s'agit d'une combinaison indivisible entre l'homme et la machine. Il est synonyme de liberté et l'indépendance. Il nous aide à redécouvrir notre monde intérieur de se sentir perdu, de redécouvrir les plaisirs intenses et de raccordement et interpréter notre environnement et la réalité de la vie. Il est une source inépuisable de satisfaction varié pour tous les âges. Il n'est pas en contradiction avec la notion de famille comme cette merveilleuse ingéniosité mécanique se révèle aussi comme un outil pour unir la famille.
