This weeks #Nikon #P1000 #Zoom Test takes us to the Alpine Ridges of New Zealands South Island around tqwo hours out of Christchurch in the thermal township of Hanmer Springs. The Southern Alps and Canterbury plains have been made famous by movies like “Power of the Dog” and “Lord of the Rings” and provide the perfect setting and elevation for busting out the Nikon P1000 and seeing how far we can see before it all fades into a blurry mess. This Zoom follows the valley alongside one of the alpine ridges toward Mt Longfellow and meeting of the Hurunui River. The entire range is visible and then some so the range likely exceeds the 50KM estimation. Zoom Distance: Conical Hill Lookout – Mt Longfellow and further : 50Km At least.
