We are the official body that deals with astrometric observations and orbits of minor planets (asteroids) and comets.

Currently, live views from the ISS are streaming from an external camera mounted on the ISS module called Node 2. Node 2 is located on the forward part of the ISS. The camera is looking forward at an angle so that the International Docking Adapter 2 (IDA2) is visible. If the Node 2 camera is not available due to operational considerations for a longer period of time, a continuous loop of recorded HDEV imagery will be displayed. The loop will have “Previously Recorded” on the image to distinguish it from the live stream from the Node 2 camera. After HDEV stopped sending any data on July 18, 2019, it was declared, on August 22, 2019, to have reached its end of life. Thank You to all who shared in experiencing and using the HDEV views of Earth from the ISS to make HDEV so much more than a Technology Demonstration Payload! The High Definition Earth Viewing (HDEV) experiment mounted on the ISS External Payload Facility of the European Space Agency’s Columbus module was activated April 30, 2014 and after 5 years and 79 days was viewed by more than 318 million viewers across the globe on USTREAM alone.

JAXA/EORC analyzes observation data acquired by Earth-observing satellites, develop algorithms to derive geophysical parameters and to calibrate and validate satellite data, develop and operate the ground system for Earth-observing satellite data, and try to maintain the quality of the data.

The Wikipedia photo contest around cultural heritage

Il existe dans tous les pays de nombreux monuments historiques. L’objectif du projet Wiki Loves Monuments est d’inciter chacun à prendre des photographies de ces monuments et les placer sous licence libre pour permettre au plus grand nombre d’y accéder via Internet. Dans ce cadre, un concours mondial a lieu durant tout le mois de septembre. Ce site présente le concours pour la France. L’édition française du concours est organisée par Wikimédia France, association pour le libre partage de la connaissance. Comment participer ? Des photos de monuments traînent dans votre ordinateur depuis votre dernier voyage ? Voilà une excellente occasion de leur donner une seconde vie grâce au concours Wiki Loves Monuments. En plus d’être visibles par tous, vos clichés pourraient figurer dans Wikipédia et ainsi contribuer à la préservation du patrimoine culturel et historique de la France. Les photos peuvent avoir été prises à n’importe quel moment ; le seul critère pour être éligible au concours est qu’elles soient téléversées dans Wikimedia Commons durant le mois de septembre et qu’elles aient été prises par vous, bien sûr ! Pour participer, il vous suffit de retrouver les monuments du patrimoine français situés près de chez vous, de les photographier et de mettre en ligne les photos : Listes des monuments historiques par département français Listes détaillées des villes de France possédant plus de vingt monuments Se créer un compte (gratuit) Autoriser dans les paramètres du compte l’envoi de courriel. L’option se trouve dans la partie « Options des courriels » → « Autoriser les autres utilisateurs à m’envoyer des courriels ». Téléverser vos photos de bâtiments ! Téléverser vos photos d’objets ! Vous habitez ou avez pris des photos dans un autre pays ? Pour les autres internautes francophones, il y a aussi des actions en Tunisie, au Maroc et en Algérie, ainsi qu’au Canada. Regardez si votre pays participe !
