My favorite is 5284 hz (at 3:08). So this experiment is the Chladni plate experiment. I used a tone generator, a wave driver (speaker) and a metal plate attached to the speaker. First add sand to the plate then begin playing a tone. Certain frequencies vibrate the metal plate in such a way that it creates areas where there is no vibration. The sand "falls" into those areas, creating beautiful geometric patterns. As the frequency increases in pitch the patterns become more complex. When Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, in Portland, Oregon, decided to sponsor an art installation they chose a collaborative design by artist, Shelley Socolofsky and John Stuart Reid of CymaScope.com. The theme set by the cathedral was that the piece should connect light and dark and be a "new and experimental art form and media that cannot be hung on walls nor placed on pedestals”. Using this brief Socolofsky and Reid came up with a design titled “Cauldron", featuring a six foot diameter circular pond of white color-dyed water, onto which a video projector would fire CymaScope imagery relevant to the cathedral. After the installation opened to the public Shelley Socolofsky commented, “The Cauldron installation was a huge success and the crowd was mesmerised and fascinated by the CymaScope imagery reflected off water. People came to see it in their droves.” John Stuart Reid commented, “The Trinity art installation project represents the first ever cymatics-based art installation in a cathedral, to our knowledge. It was a real thrill to see the imagery of the marvellous Pilgrims’ Hymn and Toccata and Fugue come alive for the first time in the CymaScope laboratory. James Stuart Reid did wonderful work in constructing and editing the various elements in post production. We hope this will be the first of many MusicMadeVisible videos designed for sacred spaces in the future."

Ferrofluid: https://sumag.net/ferrofluid-x04 Steel sphere: https://sumag.net/st-k-13-n-x01 both, sponsored by supermagnete A flashy experiment using a loudspeaker, online tone generator and ferrofluid + food dye-water mixture The speaker needs to be able to play low frequences. Discant speakers wont work. I used Logitech computer speaker set with a 4" subwoofer the whole set priced at 30$. Place the speaker pointed upwards. I used a Creme Bonjour creme cheese container, because its diameter is same size range as the speaker. The container needs to sit on the moving part of the speaker and it really helps that the size is similar with respect of the speaker - otherwise the container will move around. On the video I also use a metal lid from a candy box. I prefer the plastic container because it is lighter. There are many tone generators around the net. I have used this one: http://www.szynalski.com/tone-generator/ The cymatic patterns will show at around 0-300 hz range. Remember that humans won't be able to hear under 20hz. Adding some desired color food dye to water will make the experiment look even better. Using a syringe is convenient at this step. If you struggle to get the cymatic patterns to appear, there is most likely a problem with the container. It needs to sit gently on the moving part of speaker and balanced well enough. The volume doesn't need to be very loud at all to get the patterns visible. the depth of the water-food dye mixture was approx 1 cm I used ferrofluid just because it is black - it gives a nice contrast next to colored water. Ferrofluid is just very expensive so you can try with any type of oil that floats on water. When using a mixture of food dyes and water the first drop of ferrofluid spreads out evenly to form a thin layer on the food dye-water mixture after this the second drop will stay together forming a black dot on the liquid. The cymatic surface currents look more distinct when using this second drop of ferrofluid. When done right this experiment looks really hypnotic. When the sound waves are observable, adding the ferrofluid or other oil on liquid will make surface currents visible. You can also try this with music - it will make an innovative and astonishing music video. I like the pipette that comes with the container. It functions well and helps to avoid making a mess. 432hz resonating in water for a bit of fun. Because of the water depth and dimensions, it was able to beat like this naturally. I am not controlling the amplitude, it is doing this itself. The dish was "tuned" in order to achieve this natural beating. Also a Sustained note of A4 for comfort. It stops at one portion intentionally to experience the pure tone. Nothing ever rests, everything moves, and everything vibrates. 432 Hz is said to transmit beneficial healing energy, because it is a pure tone of math fundamental to nature. In collaboration with Japanese vocalist, Yantara Jiro, we imaged a short vocal melody to assess how quickly the CymaScope's water membrane is able to follow changes in the pitch of musical sounds. The water has a natural hysteresis, thus, it takes a finite time for the water molecules to take up new wavelet placements in response to a new set of imposed frequencies. This effect can be seen during the moments of transition as Yantara changes his vocal pitch during progress of the melody. The color was added as an experiment in which each musical note was allocated with a specific color.

John Stuart Reid gives the second in his "Secrets of Cymatics" series of lectures. Presented at the Water Conference in Sofia, Bulgaria, in October 2018, this illuminating lecture includes the topical subject of "water memory" in addition to a novel method of "differentiating between cancer cells and healthy cells". It ends with a short discussion on "the origins of life on Earth" (abiogenesis).

I started with a few bowls, cups, plates, and all are awesome (shown in future videos), however this video shows the most basic test and it still captures amazing beautiful results regarding the patterns and fractals that get created. At certain points you can see other patterns with central fusion looking bubbles/energy centralization points, and lot’s of seemingly random vein/lines shots but all mathematical and all responding to a mish mash of frequency types hitting them simultaneously. I finally did the 440 vs 432 vibe tests to see the results for myself, and... Our music is detuned to 440, and our colors are very ‘not blue’ (natures highest color), so I’ve decided to create my music at 432 and other solfeggio frequencies (that line up with your chakras and the universes natural oscillations). After doing the first experiment, which was a straight ONE TONE test, the A note, vibrating at 3 different amplitudes to cause 3 different pattern types – I definitely see a difference, and the patterns definitely show a whole different picture/fractal on the 432hz version vs the 440hz. The second experiment we go through just over an octave doing the same thing, 432hz vs 440 over 15 notes starting at G0 (G zero) and ending at A1. Each note gives off different patterns, fractals, movement inwards vs outwards, and after slowing them down you can see a that a lot of math is happening here. A lot of vibrations and frequencies painting the flower of life pattern in many different variations. You can see snowflake shapes, pulses, bio-sonoluminescent messages, plasma patterns, amiba/cell/etc shapes, it’s all quite amazing! The final test I grabbed one of my 432hz tracks, and starting soloing out layers like just the bass, then just the drums, and each combo makes the water dance a beautiful dance. Morphing, joining, grouping, ungrouping, creating rings, to mesmerizing critter like infestations, to human/animal looking cells. CONCLUSION: After looking at the footage slowed down, and after examining a lot of the frames. The 432hz vibes are DEFINITELY more in unison, better shaped fractals, more evenly distributed shapes, and I still want to try to apply maths to some it to differentiate the symmetry and overall numbers if possible. The final scene I breakdown my gear, and how you can replicate this effect at home if you have the resources. My next cymatics meets digital detox video I’m going to get creative to try to create a healing combo of sounds AND visuals using these techniques, then incorporating air, wind, and fire into this somehow ☺.
