Leni Robredo
Maria Leonor Gerona Robredo, an alternative lawyer and public servant, is the 14th Vice President of the Philippines. After years of working with the poor and the marginalized, Leni stepped into politics, following the loss of her husband, Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo. Amid a productive term in Congress, she was called upon to run for Vice President—and prevailed. Determined to help uplift the lives of Filipinos in need, VP Leni leads her office’s flagship programs, Istorya ng Pag-asa and Angat Buhay. Through its partners’ generosity, INP continues to grow from a travelling photo gallery featuring the different stories of hope of ordinary Filipinos to a Film Festival while Angat Buhay has assisted 176 poor communities, and continues to reach those at the fringes.
