Ashok Gehlot, the chief minister of Rajasthan, introduced the Mukhyamantri Chiranjeevi Yojana during the state budget session in 2021. The government seeks to provide health insurance plans to the economically poorer segments of society through the implementation of the programme. More than 1576 medical procedures and costs are covered under the programme. By paying a minimum premium of Rs. 870, eligible individuals can acquire coverage of up to Rs. 5 lakhs and receive medical care at affiliated and government hospitals.
