The Myth of the "Bad" Immigrant | American Civil Liberties Union
Immigrant communities are often asked to “get right with the law,” but is the law right in the first place? That’s what our guest Alina Das asks in her new book No Justice in the Shadows. She taps her experience as the daughter of immigrants and as an immigration attorney to ask whether immigrants who violate the law should be detained or deported.

7 videos guaranteed to change the way you see refugees - UNHCR Innovation
Raise your hand if you’ve ever heard the phrase “Put yourself in someone else’s shoes.”  It was one of the most common expressions my parents used when I was growing up as they tried to get me to look at a situation from a different point of view. A lot of people do think if you could just put […]

Not In Our Town - YouTube
The Working Group is an Oakland-based nonprofit that combines documentary and multimedia with outreach and organizing. Our efforts have started dialogue and sparked civic engagement in hundreds of communities nationwide, starting with the 1995 public television broadcast of Not In Our Town. This documentary followed the story of the citizens of Billings, Montana who joined forces to resist anti-Semitic and racist bigotry in their town. After an unprecedented national outreach campaign, communities around the country began to use the story as a model for anti-hate work. Today, NIOT is one of the country's leading resources for community organizing to prevent and respond to hate crimes. Please note that comments that include profanity or personal attacks, disrespectful language, hate speech, or other inappropriate material will be removed. America's Biggest Issues: Immigration
America's Biggest Issues: Immigration
Immigration is one of the fundamental building blocks that help make America the unique nation that it is. But the debate over border security and immigration has become toxic because politicians have put politics before principles. And reasonable Americans find themselves trapped between zealots on both sides. So what does a thoughtful agenda for American immigration reform look like? The Heritage Foundation’s Genevieve Wood takes us through four guiding principles to keep us focused on what is best for the welfare of all Americans, both those of today and those of the future.
