The University of Arizona Innocence Project has received a $1.5 million grant from the Department of Justice to enhance its efforts in investigating wrongful convictions, particularly through DNA evidence analysis.

The federal funding will support DNA evidence analysis, helping to overturn wrongful convictions and train future advocates in Arizona.

Hispanic Heritage Month, running from September 15 to October 15, is a vibrant celebration of the history, culture, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans. The City of Tucson said it has already cleared expunged hundreds of non-violent marijuana possession cases.

Additionally following a national trend in response to perceived state and federal inaction cities in Arizona on their own passed new ordinances that expands protected categories and coverage."
