The Supreme Court says states can block the country’s biggest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood, from receiving Medicaid money for health services such as contraception and cancer screenings.

U.S. District Court Judge Douglas Rayes dismissed a challenge to a 2021 statute that makes it illegal to perform an abortion because of fetal defects.

The ruling marks a victory for abortion rights months after a ballot measure added protections to the state constitution
