A response to the Westen NYT op-ed. Thus is much closer to why I like his pragmatism, but I understand why that doesn't appeal to many on the left, since they (rightly) feel no one has fought for their ideals in a while.

I think my favorite part is that Tim Berners-Lee referred to "webs" or "a web", not "the Web". We don't usually bother with the connected/unconnected distinction anymore.
