I think Mr. Simon makes some good points about where was the rage when these sorts of programs targeted poor black Americans, or the casualties of the War on Drugs... but I don't understand why he dismisses this concerns as conspiratorial.
I agree with most of his points, that this is a fun movie that had homages and (unlike 2009's) had a moral to share that was relevant to current events. That is one of Trek's strengths, in my opinion.
Treason For Revealing a Legal Program That Everyone Already Knows About
"Either the guy revealed something that really was a secret, in which case he arguably has a point that we deserve to know about it, or he just affirmed a well-understood fact and it’s no big deal." Can't be both, IMO.
Awesome video. Manipulative, maybe, but a powerful demonstration of technology improving lives. I loved the work preserving moribund languages. I guess this is the kind of ad you make when you've got $150B in the bank?
The NSA surveillance problem is Obama's transparency problem
Not sad I voted for him, glad I didn't donate to his campaign, mostly I'm just disappointed that Obama,as a constitutional scholar, hasn't fixed this or even resisted it a little.
