Fascinating analysis. In the end I'm not surprised that people would trust a platform's implementation without checking, so pretty bad that Google didn't test this further.
I think his broad point has some merit, but he completely misses the new category of user brought on by a limited system like iOS who will never need to discover that functionality. (Also I think as they note 9 fixes some of their concerns.) Mostly this feels like going after Apple for being Apple, again; I would not be surprised to see it on The Macalope.

I understood the bit about the establishment of a caliphate, but I had no idea they were so specifically apocalyptic. Of course much of their opportunity was created by the US invasion of Iraq. As the article says, "a vast ground invasion would certainly make the situation worse".
