Sounds like Battlefield Hardline emphasizes the worst excesses of video game culture, in particular the fetishization of killing with "pretty awesome gear". A lot of this has to do with game design, in that it's easy to determine a kill and count kills and feel like the game is progressing.
It's hard not to agree with this assessment - that crimes by the executive branch are simply uncrimes, even while I understand the political environment (little care about foreign policy, large pro-torture electorate, looks like partisan revenge) means a Democrat could never prosecute this case.
