@mattklewis @SarahLongwell25 Lord forbid the man doesn’t wear a suit while at war …dignity of the office and all that. Did POTUS promise Putin to embarrass Zelensky on camera because that’s what this feels like. And to be so insensitive to ask about the suit? It sounded like a middle school bully

@mattklewis @MichaelSteele I don't think Trump and Vance were ever serious about a deal. This looks like they set it up to shakedown and humiliate the President of Ukraine in person, on camera.

@mattklewis @chucktodd Trump did not offer security guarantees before the press conference, then wheeled Zelenskyy in front of the press conference where he exploited Zelenskyy's inexperience as a diplomat to blame him for the breakdown in relations, allowing Trump to fully align with Putin.

@mattklewis @chucktodd I can't help but wonder if Zelensky should be using whatever angles he has to expose the connections between Trumpworld and Putin's regime.

@mattklewis Denmark is increasing its defense spending to 3% with a mandate to buy now and skip procurement protocols. I can guarantee that there's discussion in a lot of foreign capitals about building up defense capabilities and it's not meant to ward off Russian or Chinese aggression.

@mattklewis Correct. It’s why Trump wants everything on TV at all times. So he can roll with his “The Apprentice” shtick and be like “see, he disrespected me. He’s fired.” And his base eats it up.
