85 jaar geleden nam een hoogleraar aan mijn faculteit het woord om zich te verzetten tegen tirannieke oorlogsmisdadigers. Vandaag de dag kiest er eentje de kant van de tiran. Het is om je de ogen uit de kop te schamen.

Zelensky heeft een groot gebrek aan sociale intelligentie en werkelijkheidszin. Hij is een puber, die de verhoudingen volstrekt niet begrijpt. Met zo iemand is vrede in de Oekraïne onmogelijk. Daarom zijn verkiezingen cruciaal.

@RosalieBroeck Ik hoor Trump zeggen dat er nog onderhandeld gaat worden over de voorwaarden. Ook daarin had Zelensky zich beter moeten voorbereiden. Je gaat toch niet blind naar het Witte Huis toe om een deal te sluiten waarbij tegelijkertijd je voorwaarden over vrede worden weggegeven?

@WietsedeBoer2 Dit gaat ook niet over de voorwaarden voor vrede, maar over de garanties die de VS afgeven ter handhaving daarvan. Wat de nummer 1 reden is voor Zelensky om zo’n deal te willen. En het idee was wel degelijk dat die deal hierna al getekend zou worden.

The EU needs to make a decision. If it truly stands with Ukraine it needs to rearm and offer them a fast track to membership. Otherwise they are full of shit and just as responsible as Trump for what happens next.

@OzKaterji At this point, it's not about how it started. A generation is gone. What is land (& I say that from ancestral property) to that level of loss? You can rebuild a country on less land. You can't resurrect the people to rebuild it on more. Putin will negotiate. Zelensky won't. Why?

@OzKaterji I wonder what the working class Europeans in eastern Germany think about this? Oh well, I guess we all need to play our part. Some post on Twitter, others have to turn their heat off in the middle winter because it's too expensive.
