@JordanSchachtel Zelensky is stating facts. Russia violated previous ceasefire agreements. Why wouldn’t Putin do it again?

@JordanSchachtel @Mike_Pence said, "The path to peace must be paved with truth." At 10:13, Mr. President @realDonaldTrump, you claimed: "Europe gave much less money, but they had security. It was in the form of a loan." Untrue. Europe’s given $145B—65% grants, not just loans—vs. $175B from the

@JordanSchachtel It was the part where he was talking about we might have big ocean between us but we’ll “feel it soon” that put Trump over the edge. I really think Trump took that as a threat to America and responded accordingly.

@JordanSchachtel Correct. And Zelensky was on the money. Trump can’t take it when people question him. Putin played Trump like a fiddle during his first term. Vance conveniently overlooked Putin violated last diplomatic agreement, the Minsk Agreement.

@human_xxoo @JordanSchachtel Irrespective who was right or wrong - why are we having these sessions aired publicly in the 1st place? Should be done diplomatically behind closed doors, it's not a reality TV show. Zelensky has been fighting for years & the untold stress of it all may have contributed to things

@human_xxoo @JordanSchachtel The war started in 2014. Trump had a full term to de-escalate things, but instead wound it up to an eventual full scale invasion.

@JordanSchachtel Trump and Vance showed great restraint in the face of Zelensky's provocations Their respect for the office was clear despite the tense exchange Zelensky's actions were a stark reminder of the challenges we face in diplomacy

@JordanSchachtel @JusticeS0ldier So, as I understood what I saw, Trump forces Zelensky to capitulate on Putins conditions, but when Zelensky answered, that they already did it before, but it didn't help, Trump started to yell and threat Zelensky. Thats not how deals are made.

@JordanSchachtel It was an Ambush Friday marked one of the grimmest days in the history of American diplomacy. POTUS ambushed a loyal ally, presumably so that he can soon make a deal with the dictator of Russia to sell out a European nation fighting for its very existence https://t.co/0w13ZSzqEr

@JordanSchachtel With all due respect, accuracy is far more important than respect here. @realDonaldTrump claims that Putin did not break his deals which is patently false.

@JordanSchachtel Zelensky may be right. Putin may walk back the peace deal in the future but if that happens I suppose we are back to square 1. I doubt that will be the outcome but that’s effectively the situation and it’s still worth a shot trying to negotiate a deal at this point in time.

@JordanSchachtel No, you're ABSOLUTELY wrong. Zelenskyy was explaining the situation of Putin not honoring the signed ceasefire and that agreements had been made, not honored. When Zelenskyy asked for clarification on what he meant by diplomacy, that's when Vance went off on him over gratitude.

@JordanSchachtel I see a trend here and this has always happened in the past and history is repeating itself again. When Hitler invaded some parts of Europe, Winston Churchill kept trying to warn and alert the world about the dangers of allowing hitler continue on this part but no one listened.

@gand_mama @portiakersten @JordanSchachtel Yes, I do. They were appalling, and it was obviously well planned. The praise of Putin, his aggressor, so that Z tried to explain what Putin has done in the past. Vance talked over him, as did Trump. He didn't make a threat. He tried to say that Putin >>>

@old_gmac @portiakersten @JordanSchachtel But why should they have to concede land? Why not say, hey Russia, Ukraine won’t join NATO and now you have to get out of all of Ukraine. No annexing, no land grab. Either it was about NATO out it was about taking over.

@PollyGHHC @portiakersten @JordanSchachtel Could argue Crimea is more Russian than Ukrainian given history. Similar for Donbas. Russian was most common language in both regions & ethnically Russian. In Donbas, UKR banned Russian being spoken in schools. Was “old school” authoritarianism which Putin used as excuse to claim
