@zzaurav @mattyglesias There are massive inefficiencies in Chinese manufacturing. Why buy a robot/machine when people are cheap. A large chunk of world manufacturing, not just the US, has been shifting to Vietnam and Thailand over the past few years. The CN workers started to cost too much.

@Bunagayafrost @mattyglesias The US domestic market isn't nearly big enough to accommodate all of our economic output on its own. We also don't have the available labor to replace all of the production from overseas with domestic production.
