@yarotrof @azelin A key bit of information: in October 2022, both houses of the Russian parliament signed into their constitution that Ukraine’s Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions are part of Russia. Illegally obviously under international law and Chapter 2 of UN Charter.

@yarotrof Eastern and souther parts of 1991 Ukraine were given by bolsheviks in 1922, western parts by Stalin after WWII etc. Before WWI there weren't any Ukraine but governorates of Russian empire. It was formed by bolsheviks.

@yarotrof Ukraine, Belarus and Russia formed the Soviet Union in 1921. Ukraine has every right to retain it's pre-1921 status.

@yarotrof It’s crazy for all sorts of reasons. There were 15 Soviet Republics, they all agreed to keep borders at independence, if you change that for 1 why not the rest. There are 54 countries in Africa, most have artificial colonial era borders, if you open up the option, lots of war!
