Miskotte (en ook Noordmans) waren op dogmatisch terrein grootheden, maar dachten vanuit stereotiepen, waardoor andere vormen van theologische analyse bij hen en hun volgelingen niet uit de verf kwamen.

Overigens is lang niet alles van Miskotte onleesbaar. De artikelen over de Afscheiding en de Doleantie zijn bijvoorbeeld prima te doen. Maar "Edda en Thora" is - ik zeg het nog maar eens - het meest overschatte boek uit de Nederlandse theologiegeschiedenis van de 20e eeuw.

@gidonsaar What statement of the Amsterdam mayor are you referring to? She called the riots antisemitic, reminding of pogroms. She stood by her words when questioned by the city council. She didn't change her mind, but regrets that politicians abused her statement to stir up racism.

@JacekWork The King has no political power (and the Queen has no official state function at all, it's an honorary title). A mayor is chosen by the municipal board, to which she is accountable. In a vote after the debate about this matter she got strong support.
