Rosenbauer Australia and the ACT government, together with the ACT Emergency Services Agency plan to jointly develop a plug-in hybrid fire engine for service operations over the next two years. The PHEV fire truck based on the Concept Fire Truck (CFT), which was first presented in 2016, is due for service in Canberra at the end of 2022. According to the Austrian fire brigade equipment supplier, this is a completely new vehicle architecture, which is from the ground up tailored to the future needs of the fire brigades.
