Thursday, Volkswagen officially announces that it has started production of the new ID.4 model. The electric SUV ID.4 offers over 500km of autonomy (without mentioning the battery capacity) and will be available with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The official presentation of the electric car is scheduled for September. The electric SUV ID.4 is produced in Germany at the Zwickau plant, and on this occasion the manufacturer published a video material informing about the production process.

Skoda has released the first official sketches with Enyaq IV, its electric SUV that will be unveiled on September 1 in Prague. This model marks the beginning of a new era for the Czech brand. SKODA Enyaq IV based on the modular electrification platform (MEB) of the Volkswagen Group is progressive, expressive and dynamic. The new SKODA ENYAQ iV will be available with rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, three battery packs, and five power levels.

The president of ElectroMobility Poland (EMP) publishes that they will enter the electricity market with Izera, which is the first electric car brand in this country. The first models will be a hatchback and an SUV. This is a project developed following a partnership between four major local players in the energy area. The name was inspired by the Jizera Mountains, which lie on the Polish-Czech border, and the Jizera River, which spills into the Elbe. The brand name, therefore, refers to cross-border cooperation with international partners.

According to a new media report from France, the 100% electric compact SUV planned by Renault for 2021 based on the new e-platform CMF-EV could have the model name Zandar. Other Renault E-SUVs are also prepared. In the report by "Caradisiac" the size of a Renault Captur is discussed, the maximum range should be over 500 kilometres. It is also mentioned that there should be different battery sizes, for the smaller version there is talk of around 300 kilometres.

BMW has done the homologation tests required for a fully electric car in China and Europe at the same time. After more than 340 hours of various tests and over 7700 kilometres travelled, the homologation was completed in four weeks. The results have been sent to relevant authorities around the world so that the BMW iX3 electric car can be type-approved for the various markets. The BMW iX3 fully electric SUV production starts at the BMW Brilliance factory in Shenyang, China later this summer.

Skoda has planned over two million kilometers that will be covered on tracks of different natures and thousands of hours in fatigue tests and climatic chambers. Skoda Enyaq's tests will take place in the five continents, where both cold climates and the scorching heat of the desert are expected.

The Mustang Mach-E electric SUV can charge an average of 119 km at just 10 minutes when using an IONITY charging station. In contrast to the data simulated tests, the actual test shows that the Mustang Mach-E achieved on average 26 km (almost 30%) better reach than previously estimated in the more traditionalistic simulation tests. The tests were performed on a Mustang Mach-E Long Range RWD with a range of up to 600 kilometres.

The Chinese electric car manufacturer BYD plans to launch in Europe in 2020. In addition to a 100% electric SUV, commercial vehicles with an electric drive are also planned. BYD has been active in Europe for some time now with electrically powered buses for public transport. In the passenger car area, the all-electric compact crossover BYD e6 was used for a number of attempts by various importers. However, large quantities were not achieved with the e6, which is mainly used as a taxi in China. BYD Europe, based in the Netherlands, is planning a centrally guided market entry for 2020.

The production version of the BMW iX3 electric SUV is unintentionally revealed through the first two official photos. It was on the Instagram account of a "scott26_unofficial" that the two photos appeared. The true name of the author and his source is unknown, but these photos seem to be authentic. Citroën has presented the new C5 Aircross Hybrid, which is offered from 40,390 euros in Germany. The Citroën C5 Aircross is the largest and most ambitious SUV from Citroën. The plug-in hybrid offers a system output of 165 kW, to which the electric motor contributes 80 kW.

Peugeot has just updated the ranks of its SUV range with the presentation of the new Peugeot 2008. In addition to gasoline and diesel mechanics, it will be the brand's first SUV to receive a 100% electric propulsion system. This new electric SUV will be manufactured at the Vigo plant in Spain and will reach the market at the end of 2019. It also takes a step forward in technology and security. On an aesthetic level, the design of the new Peugeot 2008 keeps a certain relationship with the recently presented 208, with attractive and distinctive lines.

Until a few months ago, Rivian was unknown to the general public. Headquartered in Michigan, the Michigan-based company was first established in 2009 but was not acknowledged until last November's Los Angeles Motor Show, when it introduced the Rivian R1S and R1T, both electric vehicles.
