10 Stocks That Will Own The Metaverse – Yahoo Finance https://bexarcountynewsonline.com/10-stocks-that-will-own-the-metaverse-yahoo-finance/ In this article we present the list of 10 Stocks That Will Own the Metaverse. Click to skip ahead and see the 5 Stocks That Will Own the Metaverse. Meta Platforms, Inc. (NASDAQ:META), NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA), and Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) are three companies the smart money is betting big on that should one day own the metaverse, which has the potential to be one of the most lucrative ventures in human history. There’s no simple way to define what the metaverse is or will be, but a broad definition could describe it as a collection of virtual worlds in which people interact with each other through avatars. And while the delivery mechanisms could be many, a true metaverse experience is seen as one which will use VR headsets, sensors, and haptic feedback to completely immerse the user in a 3D world. While the metaverse is most commonly associated with gaming, it has the potential to transform and play a role in nearly every facet of our lives, from how we work and conduct business, to how we socialize, consume entertainment, and spend our money. Rudimentary examples of metaverses already exist, primarily in the form of gaming type experiences like Roblox (primarily because of the presence of live events on the platform, which other online games like Fortnite have also hosted) and Meta Platforms’ Horizon Worlds (a more focused, though early-stage attempt at a true metaverse experience). What differentiates a metaverse from a traditional online video game, which otherwise has many of the same elements, is the broad real-life applications that a metaverse could offer. Socializing, work, education, live events, or conducting metaverse-related business all figure to feature prominently in these worlds. Entire economies are expected to spring up within these worlds that will actually lead to real-world, but metaverse-based jobs, such as game designers, visual architects, and fashion designers, and virtual land owners (and landlords?). We’re already seeing some astounding prices being paid for virtual property in games like The Sandbox, where more than $1 million was spent on virtual land so those owners could digitally live near Snoop Dogg. As more and more celebrities and influencers start heading into the metaverse, these scenarios will continue to magnify, with people spending huge sums to live near celebrities and making large sums if they can get celebrities to endorse their metaverse clothing or other creations. It’s that kind of real-world imitating economic backdrop, and the ability to otherwise conduct actual real-world business through the platform that has prognosticators so excited about the growth potential and future scope of the metaverse, which could be worth trillions of dollars. While the extreme ends of that growth aren’t likely to be felt any time soon, as the technology simply isn’t there yet (and likely won’t be for many years to come) to create a truly immersive metaverse, the market is nonetheless expected to grow at a very impressive 39.4% CAGR through 2030. If you believe in the long-term growth potential of the metaverse and are looking for some stocks to invest in that should be among the leaders in the space, you’ve come to the right place. The following list of top metaverse stocks is based on the latest shareholder data from a collection of some of the best investors in the world. 10 Stocks That Will Own the Metaverse Photo by mahdis mousavi on Unsplash Our Methodology The following metaverse stocks are ranked based on hedge fund sentiment. We follow a select group of hedge funds because Insider Monkey’s research has uncovered that their consensus stock picks can deliver outstanding returns. All hedge fund data is based on the exclusive group of 900+ funds tracked by Insider Monkey that filed 13Fs for the Q2 2022 reporting period. 10 VR Stocks That Will Own the Metaverse 10. Unity Software Inc. (NYSE:U) Number of Hedge Fund Shareholders: 23 Meta Platforms, Inc. (NASDAQ:META), NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA), and Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) are three names most likely to own the metaverse in the years and decades to come. Another company that will have a big role to play in the metavolution is Unity Software Inc. (NYSE:U). With gaming and immersive graphical experiences being core to the metaverse experience, 3D development platforms like Unity Software Inc. (NYSE:U)’s will be key to building the backbone and eye candy that will shape our digital futures. Unity is already making money from such endeavors, in addition to standard video games, pulling in $617 million in revenue in the first half of this year. The company is poised to merge with app monetization company ironSource, with a shareholder vote on the issue taking place on October 7. That should give the company and its content creators even more effective means of making money from their creations, be they meta-related or otherwise. Unity Software Inc. (NYSE:U) crashed to a new low in hedge fund ownership during Q2 following a 41% drop in the number of funds long the stock. Greg Eisner’s Engineers Gate Manager and Nehal Chopra’s Ratan Capital Group were some of the funds that sold out of Unity during the second quarter. Jim Davidson, Dave Roux, and Glenn Hutchins’ Silver Lake Partners has more than 10% exposure to Unity in its 13F portfolio, owning just under 35 million shares. The ClearBridge Investments All Cap Growth Strategy was buying shares of Unity Software Inc. (NYSE:U) during the first quarter, explaining why in its Q1 2022 investor letter: “We took advantage of a correction in higher-multiple stocks early in the first quarter to purchase shares of Unity Software (NYSE:U), a leading platform to create, run and monetize 3D content. With about 1.6 million monthly active creators versus roughly 15 million potential content creators in gaming alone, we believe the company’s Create Engine is still underpenetrated relative to its core addressable market. We similarly see a long runway for growth in Unity’s Operate Solutions segment given its advertising network commands single-digit share of the $60 billion mobile app install ad market today. Furthermore, we believe Unity is well-positioned to expand its addressable market to include industries beyond gaming, on both the operate and create sides of their business (Exhibit 1). The company is not yet free cash flow positive but given strong net expansion rates and high gross margins, we see a path to improving profitability over time, with management notably targeting positive free cash flow this fiscal year.” 9. Sony Group Corporation (NYSE:SONY) Number of Hedge Fund Shareholders: 26 Japanese electronics giant Sony Group Corporation (NYSE:SONY) is one of the biggest players in the metaverse at this point given the traction that its PlayStation-based VR headset has achieved, selling over 4 million copies worldwide. Sony recently partnered with English Premier League club Manchester City to recreate that team’s football stadium in the metaverse. Sony also sells sensors and other imaging technology that could be utilized by other companies engaged in the development of metaverse experiences. 26 of the hedge funds that are tracked by Insider Monkey’s database were long Sony Group Corporation (NYSE:SONY) on June 30, up 30% from three quarters earlier. Ben Jacobs’ Anomaly Capital Management initiated a position of 1.65 million Sony shares during Q2, giving its 13F portfolio 6.81% exposure to the company. Cooper Investors discussed Sony Group Corporation (NYSE:SONY)’s role in the burgeoning music rights landscape in the fund’s Q4 2021 investor letter: “In recent years we have observed a growing market for music rights which represent another way for owners of record labels and music libraries like portfolio holdings Warner Music Group and Sony (via its subsidiary Sony Music, ~25% of our estimated enterprise value) to deploy capital, grow their businesses and create value for shareholders. In the first few days of 2022 Warner closed a deal to acquire David Bowie’s back catalogue for about US$250m which follows on from Bruce Springsteen’s catalogue sale to Sony for upwards of US$500m and Bob Dylan’s sale to Universal Music for a similar amount. The trend in demand for music copyrights is clearly strengthening, with competition for these assets coming from traditional music companies (Warner, Sony) as well as specialist investors and private equity…” (Click here to see the full text) 8. Roblox Corporation (NYSE:RBLX) Number of Hedge Fund Shareholders: 38 Roblox Corporation (NYSE:RBLX)’s eponymous mobile game is one of the earliest examples of a metaverse in action, as the game features a collection of virtual worlds and activities created by millions of different content creators that can then be engaged with by players, a small number of whom exist within the environment at the same time and can interact with one another. Players can also buy fashion items and accessories for their avatars, allowing them to develop a unique look that sets them apart from other players’ avatars. In addition to the millions of standard game and hangout rooms, Roblox has also played host to several live events, including live concert experiences from renowned artists like The Chainsmokers. However, the limitations and annoyances of the Roblox platform can somewhat obscure the immense promise of what the metaverse could be, as you’re constantly bombarded with popup ads and gaudy in-experience ads trying to sell you stuff at all times. Despite that, Roblox had nearly 60 million daily active users in September, showing how popular shared virtual worlds not only could be, but already are. Hedge funds have bailed on Roblox Corporation (NYSE:RBLX) over the past two quarters, pushing ownership of the stock down by 38%. Some ...

Crypto Scam Victims Seek To Hold Coinbase Responsible For Losses The Washington Post
Crypto Scam Victims Seek To Hold Coinbase Responsible For Losses The Washington Post
Crypto Scam Victims Seek To Hold Coinbase Responsible For Losses – The Washington Post https://bexarcountynewsonline.com/crypto-scam-victims-seek-to-hold-coinbase-responsible-for-losses-the-washington-post/ Over the past year, thousands of people have lost tens, if not hundreds, of millions in cryptocurrency when gangs of sophisticated scammers whisked their money out of their accounts, which are managed by an app from the publicly traded cryptocurrency giant Coinbase. Now those victims are fighting back. Nearly 100 people are trying to hold Coinbase accountable, saying the company didn’t do enough to protect them. Scam victims says they notified the company, begging it to fix defects in its Coinbase Wallet software that had allowed the victims unknowingly to grant the scammers access to their accounts. The requests were to no avail, scam victims say. “They’re trying to be a financial institution without the infrastructure to back it up,” said Eric Rosen, a lawyer at Roche Freedman representing some 96 victims in the arbitration demand, which is akin to a lawsuit, filed against Coinbase. “There were no procedures in place to stop these frauds,” Rosen said. “Of course, scammers quickly picked up on this, and directed victims to download the Coinbase Wallet.” Many of the victims lost their life savings. The demand says that the rules requiring banks to reimburse debit-card users for unauthorized transfers also should apply to Coinbase’s customers. “Coinbase is committed to protecting its customers from scams, fraud, and other crimes and has invested significant resources in protecting users against liquidity mining scams,” company spokeswoman Lisa Johnson said, responding to the arbitration demand. “A customer’s activities on Coinbase Wallet, including managing the wallet’s private security keys and access to the wallet’s contents, are exclusively controlled by the customer, not Coinbase,” Johnson continued, noting that the company offers many products so that consumers “can choose the products that are best for them.” The arbitration could be the start of a reckoning over whether crypto’s ideology of self-reliance and software-driven governance can survive contact with the highly regulated mainstream financial system. If the arbitration demand results in an order that Coinbase reimburse its customers, it provides the possibility of a way forward for the victims of a massive ongoing scam that The Washington Post reported in April had already caused thousands of victims more than $60 million of losses. The individuals participating in the Coinbase arbitration demand, some of whom were scammed as late as this August, say they lost more than $21 million total. Many were forced by Coinbase Wallet’s terms of service to turn to arbitration instead of challenging them through the U.S. courts. The decision of the arbitrator won’t set a formal legal precedent, but will help answer one of the top questions of the burgeoning crypto era: Do the existing rules of the financial system apply to cryptocurrency companies? Unlike other scams in which someone is fooled into sending money somewhere, in this scheme, the individuals’ money was stolen straight out of their accounts. After meeting the victims through social media, dating apps or wrong-number texts, the scammers said high returns were available through “liquidity mining”; a would-be investor just had to buy a “mining certificate,” clicking through a prompt in Coinbase Wallet that said “confirm payment.” The certificate wasn’t real, and the process wasn’t really a payment. Clicking on these innocuous-looking vouchers would record a single line of computer code granting the scammers permission to steal crypto deposited into an account weeks or months later. Coinbase “had no procedures in place to stop these frauds,” Rosen said. “They didn’t even appear to try. Of course, scammers quickly picked up on this, and literally directed victims to download the Coinbase Wallet.” The victims tell similar tales: The scammer would spend weeks egging them on to invest more, until one day their money was gone. A victim advocacy group calls it a “pig butchering” scam in which the victims’ accounts are fattened like hogs for slaughter. Reports from ProPublica and Vice say that at least some of the front-line scammers are themselves victims of human trafficking in Southeast Asia, forced to work under threats of violence. This week, the investor protection director in the state of Delaware issued a cease-and-desist order against more than 15 people it believes are “involved or working in conjunction with” those who contacted alleged victims. But some of those who lost money say they see the perpetrators as only part of the story. “I put the blame on Coinbase far more than even the scammers, because the scammers couldn’t have been effective without Coinbase,” James Osbun, who says he lost $77,000 to the scam, said in an interview. The level of legitimacy conferred by a company such as Coinbase combined with a lack of red flags caused Osbun to proceed, he said, when he otherwise would have stopped. “At minimum, let me know what my account is doing,” Osbun said, referring to the stealth smart contract. ‘You’re putting your funds at risk: continue? Yes or no?’ They didn’t even do that,” he added. In the past few months, Coinbase adjusted the warnings it presents in its wallet app, now showing that a website is requesting permission to withdraw a huge sum of dollars from an account. (A wallet application inside Coinbase’s main app, however, appears still to be vulnerable; it does not make clear that signing a smart contract could let a website access someone’s entire balance.) For years, regulators paid relatively little attention to crypto. But as its popularity with everyday Americans skyrocketed in 2020, claims of fraud soared, too, as borderless digital money turned into a gold rush for overseas thieves, including North Korea’s government. Meanwhile, state and federal regulators have taken action against some firms. The Securities and Exchange Commission has begun pursuing cases against certain cryptocurrency companies and promoters, saying they violated securities laws. The cryptocurrency industry has fought back, arguing that those laws, which normally apply to stocks, shouldn’t be applied to decentralized digital currencies and tokens. Experts think the significance of the Coinbase case goes well beyond these victims. “If arbitrators find for these plaintiffs, that means anyone who’s lost money in a crypto scam is going to be calling a lawyer,” said Lee Reiners, policy director at the Duke Financial Economics Center and a fellow at Duke Law who has researched crypto and financial scams.

Omicron BA.5 Is Declining In The U.S. As Emerging Variants Gain Ground, CDC Data Shows – CNBC https://bexarcountynewsonline.com/omicron-ba-5-is-declining-in-the-u-s-as-emerging-variants-gain-ground-cdc-data-shows-cnbc/ People walk by a Covid-19 testing site at Times Square on May 12, 2022 in New York City. Liao Pan | China News Service | Getty Images The U.S. faces at least seven different versions of omicron as the nation heads into winter when health officials are expecting another wave of Covid-19 infections. Although the omicron BA.5 variant remains dominant in the U.S., it is starting to lose some ground to other versions of the virus, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention published on Friday. Omicron BA.5 has splintered into several new but related variants that include BQ.1, BQ.1.1 and BF.7. The U.K. Health Security Agency, in a report earlier this month, said these three variants are demonstrating a growth advantage over BA.5, which was the most contagious version of the virus yet. In the U.S., omicron BA.5 makes up about 68% of all new infections, down from about 80% at the beginning of October. BQ.1, BQ.1.1 and BF.7 have gained ground and are causing about 17% of new infections taken together, according to the CDC data. About 3% of new infections are attributable to BA.2.75. and BA.2.75.2, which are related to the omicron BA.2 variant that caused a bump in cases during the spring but was pushed out. Scientists at Peking University in China found that omicron BA.2.75.2 and BQ.1.1 were the most adept at evading immunity from prior BA.5 infection and several antibody drugs. The study, published earlier in October, has not been peer-reviewed yet. Dr. Ashish Jha, the White House Covid response coordinator, said earlier this week that U.S. health officials are closely monitoring these variants because they are good at evading prior immunity. “The reason we’re tracking them is because they either have a lot more immune invasiveness or they render many of our treatments ineffective,” Jha said. “Those are the two major things that get our attention.” But Jha said the new omicron boosters that the U.S. started rolling out last month should provide better protection than the first-generation vaccines against these emerging variants. The boosters target BA.5 and the emerging variants are all omicron and most descend from BA.5. Jha called on all eligible Americans to get the new boosters by Halloween so they will have full protection for Thanksgiving when family holiday gatherings kick into full swing. But the scientists at Peking University said the immune evasiveness of variants like BA.2.75.2 and BQ.1.1 could mean that the BA.5 booster shots will not provide sufficiently broad protection. It’s unclear how much more effective the boosters will prove in the real world. The Food and Drug Administration authorized the shots without direct human data, relying instead on clinical trials from a similar shot that was developed against the original version of omicron, BA.1. Pfizer and BioNTech on Thursday published the first human data from their BA.5 shots. The boosters triggered a significant boost to the immune system against omicron BA.5 in a lab study that looked at blood samples from adults ages 18 and older, the companies said.

The news journalists obtained a quote from the research from : “Antibiotic prescriptions were categorized based on International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10) codes as ‘appropriate’, ‘potentially appropriate’ and ‘inappropriate’ using a classification scheme developed by Chua et al. (BMJ 2019; 364: k5092). Further assessments of antibiotic choice, dosage and duration of treatment were carried out to determine the appropriateness of ‘appropriate’ and ‘potentially appropriate’ prescriptions in comparison with treatment guidelines. In , 188 141 antibiotics were prescribed for 174 889 patients who consulted GPs in the private sector. Penicillins were the most frequently prescribed antibiotic class, making up 40.7% of all antibiotics prescribed. Amoxicillin/clavulanic acid was the most frequently prescribed antibiotic, making up 28.6% of all antibiotics prescribed. Diseases of the respiratory system generated the highest number of prescriptions, making up 46.1% of all diagnoses. Of all prescriptions, 8.8% were appropriate, 32.0% were potentially appropriate, 45.4% were inappropriate and 13.8% could not be assessed. Of the appropriately and potentially appropriately prescribed antibiotics, 30.8% were correct antibiotic selections. Of the correctly selected antibiotics for adults, 57.7% had correct doses. Of the antibiotics prescribed with correct doses for adults, 76.7% had correct dosage frequencies and durations of treatment.” According to the news reporters, the research concluded: “The study revealed that antibiotics were frequently prescribed inappropriately by GPs in the private primary healthcare sector. Alienware AW920H Headset Review: Wireless ANC And Bluetooth On A Budget? [Video] 9to5Toys
Alienware AW920H Headset Review: Wireless ANC And Bluetooth On A Budget? [Video] 9to5Toys
Alienware AW920H Headset Review: Wireless, ANC, And Bluetooth On A Budget? [Video] – 9to5Toys https://bexarcountynewsonline.com/alienware-aw920h-headset-review-wireless-anc-and-bluetooth-on-a-budget-video-9to5toys/ In noisy gaming environments, ANC, or active noise cancellation, can help to knock out background noise and keep the focus on the game. I relied heavily on it during the heat of the past summer. And while we’ve seen plenty of high-end headsets with ANC come out this year, like Sony Inzone H9 and SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless, the Alienware AW920H offers a similar spec sheet at a lower price. At $200 is the Alienware AW920H a good option for a more affordable ANC gaming headset? Be sure to hit the video below to see our dive into the good and the bad of this gaming headset.  Alienware has long been a well-regarded name for high-end gaming computers but has also expanded into peripherals with monitors, keyboards, chairs, and gaming headsets. The AW920H features a long spec sheet with ANC, Bluetooth, and a 3.5mm port. But while that spec sheet is impressive, it falls short in some of the key areas for me. Be sure to keep reading to find out why.  Design overview The AW920H is available in two different colorways. Lunar Light has a matte white finish. Dark Side of the Moon is finished in matte black plastic.  Like Alienware laptops, the AW920H headset has a unique design that absolutely looks like a gaming peripheral. The rounded earcups come to a flat spot that looks like it could be engines on a spacecraft.  The AW920H also has RGB Alienware logos on either earcup. The color and brightness can be adjusted from the Alienware Command Center software.  Alienware AW920H: Comfort The more affordable price point starts to show its face in the headset’s comfort. The ear cushions are on the shallow side, and combined with the ANC bumps on the driver covers, it can be fatiguing to wear for longer gaming sessions. I don’t find the bump as intrusive as the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless, but when adjusting the headset they are noticeable. My ears press against the driver covers and even hit the cushions up top and on the bottom.  At 300g, the AW920H doesn’t feel heavy but has significant clamping force. Combined with the shallow ear cushions, it doesn’t score very well for comfort. I could still use the headset for multiple hours at a time, but compared to other headsets, it falls short and wouldn’t be my top pick. I’d give the most comfortable rating to the Epos lineup like the H3PRO Hybrid and H6PRO or the Sony Inzone H9.  Alienware AW920H: Video Alienware AW920H: Controls On the bottom of the left earcup is a toggle for ANC, a mic mute button, and a mode switch to toggle between 2.4 and Bluetooth. Over on the right earcup are the power button and status light.  Hidden in the flat parts that look like a spaceship’s engines are the USB-C charging port and a 3.5mm port. That 3.5mm plug handles both the boom mic as well as the included 3.5mm cable to run the headset analog.  That means that the boom mic and 3.5mm cable cannot be used at the same time. The cable does have an in-line mic and mute switch, but it is an interesting design choice.  Additionally, the toggle between Bluetooth and 2.4gHz means that they cannot be used at the same time. This is a feature that the other higher-end headsets feature. It’s a bit disappointing that the AW920H can’t do both at the same time.  One neat feature of the AW920H is the touch-capacitive controls on the right earcup. A double-tap will play and pause media, swiping forward or back can skip tracks, up and down changes volume, and holding it for a few seconds can enable a transparency mode.  How does it sound?  In its default EQ, the Alienware AW920H has a dark sound overall. Lows are pushed forward and highs are pulled back from what I’m used to with most gaming headsets. Bass-heavy music can be a lot of fun to listen to with this headset, but I usually prefer something that has more details in the highs when gaming. That can be accomplished with the Dolby Access app, which we’ll talk about next.  Stereo separation and positioning are exceptional, though. Maybe not quite on par with the Astro A30 we recently reviewed, but it is still impressive. This is always a plus when it comes to gaming. As always, one of my favorite ways to test stereo separation is by putting on a busy metal track like “Mist” by Protest the Hero. Really any of their songs do well. The guitars are easy to separate and pick out of the sometimes chaotic mix. Alienware AW920H: Dolby Atmos Dolby Atmos may be this headset’s saving grace when it comes to sound. Alienware has gone ahead and provided a license for the AW920H, so there is no additional charge. Just download Dolby Access from the Microsoft Store and the headset will be detected when you launch the app.  As I mentioned in my Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless XT review, Dolby Atmos is pretty much the only virtual surround audio mode that I’ve found that I enjoy when gaming. While playing Battlefield 2042’s Liquidator event, I felt like I had a great grasp on where opponents were positioned around the battlefield.  It also enables tweaking of EQ, which I feel the AW920H desperately needs for gaming. The default sound is significantly darker than what I look for in a gaming headset and cutting some low end, while boosting the higher frequencies really helped to bring this headset where I like it.  Alienware AW920H: ANC The significant clamping force means that the AW920H has decent passive noise cancellation from the ear cushions. To take it to the next level, ANC works well to knock out noises like air-conditioning units and fans.  I relied on ANC gaming headsets quite a bit this summer as my office gets warm, and I usually have at least a fan on and usually had my portable AC unit running as well. If you’re in a noisy environment, ANC does help to keep the focus on the game and reduce distracting noises that might cover up important audio information.  Mic test For the microphone, Alienware has emphasized AI-driven noise suppression, which is actually quite impressive. Clicking away on my loudest keyboard, the Razer Huntsman Mini with purple optical switches, not a single keystroke came through in my testing. For a comparison of what that sounds like without noise suppression, check out the video of the ModMic lineup. The keystrokes really came through in that video.  Otherwise, the mic is very quiet and ends up sounding like there is significant noise suppression enabled. It’s a little muffled and not the clearest, but once again the way it can knock out background noise is very impressive.  9to5Toys’ Take The Alienware AW920H is good for stepping into a budget ANC gaming headset, but it does have some compromises. Not being able to use Bluetooth and 2.4gHz at the same time is a bummer. The default sound isn’t great in my opinion but can get much better with some tweaking through the Dolby Access app. The comfort isn’t the best for me either.  Alienware is still pretty new to the gaming headset world. Hopefully, the lineup expands in the future with more options as there are some parts of the AW920H. But, if you’re on a budget and ANC is high up on your list of needs, then this headset is definitely worth a look. If you have some more money to spend, though, then there are other headsets that perform much better in my opinion.  Buy Alienware AW920H FTC: 9to5Toys is reader supported, we may earn income on affiliate links Subscribe to the 9to5Toys YouTube Channel for all of the latest videos, reviews, and more!

For the second week, the shooting of 17-year-old Erik Cantu by a now-fired San Antonio police officer continued to dominate headlines. Four of the Current‘s most-read stories for the week involved the shooting, which captured national headlines and drew anger from those who watched the terminated officer’s body cam video. The one-time SAPD officer now faces two felony charges over the incident. However, there was also plenty of other news transpiring this week, from questions about how well local officials scrutinized the economic development deal they gave to an electric vehicle startup to Kayne West once again saying stupid shit. And a pair of economic reports on retail sales and consumer sentiment gave investors insight into whether inflation and the Federal Reserve’s interest rate hikes are keeping Americans from spending. US stocks fell Friday, giving up a big chunk of Thursday’s massive gains. Weak retail sales and rising bond yields overshadowed solid earnings from Dow components JPMorgan Chase (JPM) and UnitedHealth (UNH). A big week of earnings lies ahead, with Goldman Sachs (GS), Netflix (NFLX), Tesla (TSLA) and IBM (IBM) among the many blue chips on tap to report results. The Dow ended the day down more than 400 points, or 1.3%. The S&P 500 lost 2.4%. The Nasdaq Composite fell 3.1%. The Dow still wound up eking out a gain for the week, rising more than 1% over the past five days. But the S&P 500 fell more than 1% and the Nasdaq tumbled more than 3%. Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta President Raphael Bostic said Friday he had inadvertently broken the central bank’s trading rules. New documents highlighted multiple violations. Bostic, who has led the Atlanta Fed for five years, made personal investment trades during blackout periods, when officials are prohibited from making financial transactions. The disclosures also show that Bostic previously filed incomplete information and that he held more than $50,000 in US Treasury funds last year, which exceeds the permissible limit. Bostic is the latest in a slew of top officials to come under scrutiny for trading activity outside of the scope of the Fed’s strict rules. The ongoing scandal has already led to multiple resignations. The revelations come at a crucial time for the Federal Reserve’s credibility. The central bank characterized inflation as “transitory” last year and since then has been forced to ramp up rate hikes this year to cool down the economy. On Friday, Bostic said that the errors were due to a misinterpretation of central bank rules. He said he sought to correct his mistakes “as soon as I became aware that my financial reporting did not meet the expressed or implicit expectations necessary to maintain the public’s trust.” The Fed president added that he did not make any trades based on insider knowledge. “I recognize it is my responsibility to understand and abide by every obligation of this office,” Bostic said. “I want to be clear: at no time did I knowingly authorize or complete a financial transaction based on nonpublic information or with any intent to conceal or sidestep my obligations of transparent and accountable reporting.” Two Fed presidents resigned last year after disclosures showed they had traded individual stocks in 2020, a period during which the Fed intervened in markets due to the pandemic-induced recession. Powell responded by instituting widespread personal-investing restrictions on senior officials. It was during the implementation of these restrictions that Bostic’s violations came to light. The Fed said Friday that Chairman Jerome Powell had asked its inspector general to conduct a review of Bostic’s transactions and that the central bank would take action based on the results of the investigation. Delta Air Lines planes are seen at John F. Kennedy International Airport on the July 4th weekend in Queens, New York. Andrew Kelly/Reuters It’s not exactly a happy Friday on Wall Street. The major indexes are all down, and only a handful of stocks in the Dow are higher. But the few winners have something in common: strong earnings. JPMorgan Chase (JPM), which posted results that were better than expected, was the biggest gainer in the Dow. The second-best performer? UnitedHealth (UNH), which also reported earnings that exceeded Wall Street’s forecasts. The same was true over in the S&P 500. Big banks US Bancorp (USB) and Wells Fargo (WFC) led the way in that blue chip index. Citigroup (C) was also a leader. All three banks had impressive earnings Friday. Delta (DAL) was also a big winner, extending its gains from Thursday, when…you guessed it…the airline reported solid profits. Stocks were giving back a chunk of Thursday’s massive gains in midday trading Friday. The market was hovering at its lowest levels of the day just around noon. Investors seemed more worried about sagging retail sales and continued inflation worries than excited by decent earnings from financial giants JPMorgan Chase (JPM), Wells Fargo (WFC) and Citigroup (C). The supermarket mega merger of Kroger (KR) and Albertsons (ACI) failed to entice stock shoppers either. The Dow fell more than 300 points, or 1.1%. The S&P 500 was down 1.9%. The Nasdaq Composite slipped 2.5%. Traders seen at the New York Stock Exchange today.  Brendan McDermid/Reuters US markets gave up their early-morning gains after a new consumer survey from the University of Michigan showed that expectations for elevated inflation were increasing. Investors worried that the survey, closely watched by the Federal Reserve, could mean more painful rate hikes are on the horizon. The Dow fell below 30,000 on the news, and the S&P 500 and Nasdaq also dropped to session lows. The Dow lost 140 points, or 0.5%, on Friday morning. The S&P 500 was down 1.1%. The Nasdaq Composite was 1.4% lower. A man walks past a Citigroup Citibank Park Avenue branch in New York, NY, January 13 (Anthony Behar/Sipa USA/AP) Citigroup reported a 25% drop in year-over-year net income on Friday as the bank increased its loan loss reserves and activity in investment banking slumped. “Banking was the business most adversely impacted by the macro environment with reduced deal flows and a lower appetite for M&A,” said Citigroup CEO Jane Fraser in the company’s statement, adding that “the backdrop for wealth management was difficult.” Big banks have been slammed this year as the US faces a potential recession, which would lead to major loan losses and an accelerated slowdown in mergers and acquisitions. Out of all the big bank stocks, Citi’s shares have tumbled the most – down 32% year-to-date. There were some bright spots in the company’s third quarter report. The bank reported stronger-than-expected revenue, bringing in $18.51 billion in revenue versus the $18.25 billion expected by analysts, according to Refinitiv, a 6% increase since last year. Personal banking revenue soared 10% year over year to $4.33 billion. But the bank reported just $631 million in investment banking revenue for the third quarter, a steep decline of more than 60% year over year. Citigroup’s Fraser will speak about earnings live at 11 a.m. ET. Anyone who’s watched “Sesame Street” probably knows the classic song about how one object in a group differs from the rest. “One of these things is not like the others. One of these things just doesn’t belong.” Well, Morgan Stanley (MS) was the one that didn’t belong Friday. Shares of the investment bank fell 3% in early trading after the bank reported earnings and revenue that missed analysts’ forecasts. Meanwhile, shares of JPMorgan Chase (JPM), Citigroup (C), Wells Fargo (WFC) and US Bancorp (USB) were all higher after they each reported reasonably solid results. So to quote another “Sesame Street” song, “it’s not easy being green” if you’re Morgan Stanley’s stock. US stocks opened higher in the wake of a massive comeback Thursday that saw the Dow Jones Industrial Average surge 1,500 points from peak to trough and the S&P 500 post its widest trading range since March 2020. Investors also considered mixed third-quarter earnings results from big banks. JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo stock soared after they beat revenue expectations. Morgan Stanley and Citigroup, meanwhile, both announced profit misses. The Dow gained 249 points, or 0.8%, on Friday morning. The S&P 500 was up 0.9%. The Nasdaq Composite was 1% higher. Produce is offered for sale at a grocery store on October 13 in Chicago, Illinois. (Scott Olson/Getty Images) Americans were feeling more confident about the economy in early October — though that optimism may prove short lived, according to the latest University of Michigan consumer sentiment survey. The preliminary consumer sentiment index for this month rose to 59.8 from 58.6 in September, having fallen to a record low of 50 in June when gas prices hit historic highs. The decline in fuel costs since then has allowed consumers to feel a little more optimistic, but the recent decision by OPEC+ to cut oil production, along with the potential for further fallout from Russia’s war in Ukraine, threatens to push up the price at the pump again. “Continued ...

The 10 Best Cities For Mental Health Ranked Bustle
The 10 Best Cities For Mental Health Ranked Bustle
The 10 Best Cities For Mental Health, Ranked – Bustle https://bexarcountynewsonline.com/the-10-best-cities-for-mental-health-ranked-bustle/ While you can find something positive about any town, there are a few cities that are extra good for your mental health. Whether it’s because of the environment, the accessibility, or the work-life balance, living in these areas is said to do wonders for your well-being. To find out which are the best cities for mental health, lawn company LawnStarter compared over 190 of the biggest U.S. cities by looking at 33 metrics, including access to green space (like parks and trails), mental health resources, meditation classes, and urban gardens, as well as the cost of living and even the average sleep level of the people who live there. All of these things, of course, can impact how you feel day to day. Topping the list is Naperville, Illinois, which took first place overall and in the financial wellness category, thanks to the financial stability of its residents. Next up was Pasadena, California — the city with the most meditation classes — followed by Seattle, Washington. According to the survey, Seattle came in third because the city is all about meditation, running, biking, and yoga, which may explain why the area scored so high in LawnStarter’s physical wellness and mindfulness categories. Seattle also has easy access to green space. Erin Dierickx, LMFTA, a licensed marriage and family therapist associate who lives in the west coast city, can attest to this. “Green space invites exploration, fun, adventure, exercise, and the opportunity to be outside and connect with others through shared movement and interest in nature,” she tells Bustle. Read: all good things for boosting the mood. “Green space invites exploration, fun, adventure, exercise, and the opportunity to be outside and connect with others through shared movement and interest in nature.” Coming in the number four spot is Fremont, California followed by San Fransisco — two more mental wellness-promoting areas in Cali. While LawnStarter pointed out that folks in San Fransisco tend to go too far when it comes to overworking, they make up for it with an otherwise healthy lifestyle and access to mental health resources. Next up on the list is Bellevue, Washington followed by Alexandria, Virginia, two cities that are “full of therapists” as well as financially-stable, healthy, and well-rested adults, according to LawnStarter. Alexandria came in with a top ranking for its access to exercise classes and gyms, too. The eighth best city in the U.S. for mental health? Irvine, California followed by Fort Collins, Colorado, a city with plenty of access to therapy. Fort Collins was also revealed to be the most “well-rested city” on the list. Since working long hours and getting limited sleep is bad for your brain, it makes perfect sense why this is such a deciding factor. The number 10 spot goes to Santa Rosa, California, which also gets top marks for its laidback vibes. (That makes five out of 10 hailing in California!) “A laidback lifestyle can impact mental health by reducing stress and having less pressure to perform or be ‘on’ all the time,” says Ryanne Mellick, a mental health therapist in Minneapolis, Minnesota, a city that ranks as number 19 on the list. “Also, access to therapy is key. Access to services and support is so important for mental wellness and can have a huge impact on a person’s overall well-being and mental wellness.” Sources: Erin Dierickx, LMFTA, licensed marriage and family therapist associate Ryanne Mellick, mental health therapist

Unlike games of chance, sports betting relies on information, statistical data and many other factors that can help bettors accurately predict outcomes.  That’s why most bettors follow the latest sports news and betting information to analyze the data and make more strategic decisions when placing bets. Therefore, it’s of vital importance to find reliable sources of news and information. With that in mind, here’s how to find reliable news and sports betting information online. What are some tips for finding reliable sources of sport betting information? There are a few things to look for when searching for reliable sources of sports betting information. First, look for sources that have a good reputation. This can be done by reading reviews and comments on social media, forums and news sites. Sports fans usually get very vocal when sports information is inaccurate. Furthermore, make sure that the source is unbiased. This means they should not be affiliated with any sportsbook or team. In addition, the information should be up-to-date and relevant to the current season.  How can you tell if a source is reliable? Since there are so many sources of news and information online, it can be really difficult to determine if the source is reliable or not. In most cases, bad sources of information get weeded out quickly after sports fan outrage, but it’s always better to check anyway so you can be absolutely sure. That being said, here are a few things to keep an eye on. The source’s credentials (i.e. their qualifications or experience in the field) Whether or not other sources back up the information provided by the source How current is the information Whether or not the source has a vested interest in the information they are providing. Why is it important to find reliable sources for this type of information? There are a few reasons why it’s important to find reliable sources for this type of information. If the information you gather is incorrect, you won’t make the right choice when placing a bet. For experienced bettors, this type of information is crucial for their betting strategy. Misinformation can easily lead you astray, so it’s essential to check the source’s reliability before you take the information they provide for granted.  Many major news sites and sports affiliates provide accurate information regarding sports teams, individual players and so on. But it never hurts to double-check the information you get before you use it for betting purposes.

Its super cool futuristic design is incomparable to anyone and makes it second to none. Let’s start with Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 specifications and features. You would be getting an improved and latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC which will offer better performance over the previous S22 series. It is powered by 3,700mAh that would be charged by 25W of battery. Its latest One UI version 4.1.1 which is based on Android 12 gives it a plus point over previous models. On top of everything, this is its multifunctional feature that lets you open up to five applications in a flying window. But it becomes pointless with a portrait-long screen to work on multiple windows at a time so only one application can be operated at a time. This phone comes with a Flex mode feature that lets you open applications on the upper side and bottom half for the touchpad and shows control. Here is the offer you can get with Verizon As of now, it will cost you $999.99 and you can grab this at a discounted rate by exchanging your old phone. You can have it in zero amount by subscribing to the 36 monthly no-cost EMI option.

Tether Drops All Commercial Paper From Reserves In New Transparency Push – Cryptonews https://bexarcountynewsonline.com/tether-drops-all-commercial-paper-from-reserves-in-new-transparency-push-cryptonews/ Source: Unsplash The stablecoin issuer Tether has finally eliminated its exposure to commercial papers, replacing them with much more liquid and secure US Treasury Bills. According to an announcement from Tether, the move to eliminate its commercial paper holdings and replace it with US Treasuries is part of a push to increase transparency and confidence among users of the popular USDT stablecoin. “Reducing commercial papers to zero demonstrates Tether’s commitment to backing its tokens with the most secure reserves in the market. This is a step towards even greater transparency and trust, not only for Tether but for the entire stablecoin industry,” Tether said in the announcement. Source: Tether.to Members of the crypto community welcomed the news from Tether on Thursday, with for instance VanEck strategy advisor Gabor Gurbacs writing on Twitter that USDT’s backing “looks less risky to me than most bank balance sheets.” Tether’s plan to reduce its holdings of commercial papers has been known for a long time, and the news announced on Thursday means that this work has now been completed, with commercial paper holdings finally reduced to zero. Tether has in the past been criticized for what some see as a lack of transparency, in particular with regards to a lack of formal audits of its reserves. Among those who have questioned Tether’s practices is the Wall Street Journal, which in an article from August 27 pointed out that although Tether has promised an audit since at least 2017, it has yet to happen. Responding to the article at the time, Tether called the claims made in it “disinformation.” It said its disclosures “have been the most honest and transparent in the market,” and that “everyone knows that we have not had an audit and they know we are working towards one.” Tether is the most popular stablecoin in the world today with a market capitalization as of press time of $68.4 billion.

2022 Stockdale Leadership Award Recipients Announced Navy.mil
2022 Stockdale Leadership Award Recipients Announced Navy.mil
2022 Stockdale Leadership Award Recipients Announced – Navy.mil https://bexarcountynewsonline.com/2022-stockdale-leadership-award-recipients-announced-navy-mil/ The announcement came in NAVADMIN 233/22, released Oct. 12. The annual award recognizes commanding officers who demonstrate inspirational leadership both professionally and personally, while also contributing to the improvement of leadership in the Navy.  It is peer-driven, as only those who are eligible for the award themselves are allowed to nominate others for consideration. Thomas is the former commanding officer of the King Bay, Ga.-based ballistic missile submarine USS Alaska’s Gold Crew (SSBN 732), which he led from May 17, 2019, to Nov. 22, 2021.  He is currently assigned to Strategic Systems Programs in Washington, D.C. Thomas, of Ann Arbor, Mich., is a graduate of the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps at the University of Michigan.  Commissioned April 26, 2002, he is a career submariner with sea tours on four boats.  Ashore he has done tours with the Department of Energy and at U.S. Strategic Command in Nebraska.   Keefe, of Cincinnati, graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and was commissioned May 27, 2005.  He is currently commander of the Guam-based Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit Five (EODMU 5). After completing diving and surface warfare officer schools, Keefe first served as a Mine Countermeasure Crew Leader.  In 2008, he qualified as an explosive ordnance disposal officer, and has operated in every geographic combatant command while countering improvised explosive devices, underwater mines and weapons of mass destruction, according to his official biography. Ashore Keefe has been an instructor at the Naval Academy; an aide to then Vice Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Michelle Howard at the Pentagon; and at Joint Special Operations Command as the EOD Branch Chief. First awarded in 1980, the award is named for the late Vice Adm. James Bond Stockdale, a Naval Academy graduate and naval aviator.  On Sept. 9, 1965, Stockdale was commander of Carrier Air Group 16, flying from the aircraft carrier USS Oriskany (CV 34).  A veteran of over 200 combat missions at the time, Stockdale’s A-4E Skyhawk was hit by enemy fire over North Vietnam. Forced to eject, he landed in a small village and was captured. A prisoner for eight years, Stockdale was the highest-ranking naval officer among the Americans held captive in North Vietnamese prisons.  Leading by example, Stockdale resisted his captors from the start, establishing a culture of defiance among the prisoners of war.  His efforts to promote resistance led to him and ten other senior POWs being separated from the rest to break down the American chain of command among prisoners. Frequently tortured, Stockdale spent two years in heavy leg irons and a total of four years in isolation.  He didn’t waver.  He led the POWs’ culture of defiance, finding ways to communicate and govern prisoner behavior, inspiring hope in his fellow captives. His inspirational leadership continued throughout his imprisonment until his release in February 1973.  He was awarded the Medal of Honor in 1976 and served as president of the Naval War College from October 1977 until August 1979. Stockdale articulated five roles for a leader: moralist, jurist, teacher, steward and philosopher. Eligible for the award are active duty Navy commanders and below who are serving in command of a single ship, submarine, aviation squadron, Sea, Air, Land team, naval special warfare squadron, SEAL delivery vehicle team, special boat team, explosive ordnance disposal mobile unit, mobile diving and salvage unit, or Navy special clearance team. This year’s selection board was presented with ten finalists, from which the two winners were selected. The other eight finalists deserve special mention: Pacific Fleet finalists: Cmdr. Robert J. McDowell, Commanding Officer, USS JEFFERSON CITY (SSN 759) Cmdr. Travis A. Montplaisir, Commanding Officer, USS HOWARD (DDG 83) Cmdr. Eric M. Ponsart, Commanding Officer, Fleet Logistics Multi-Mission Squadron FIVE ZERO (VRM 50) Cmdr. Joseph W. Snyder, Commanding Officer, Patrol Squadron FOUR SIX (VP 46) U.S. Fleet Forces finalists: Cmdr. Brian A. Forster, Commanding Officer, USS MILWAUKEE (LCS 5) Cmdr. Alexander P. Armatas, Commanding Officer, Strike Fighter Squadron ONE ZERO FIVE (VFA 105) Cmdr. Thomas H. Bandwidth: GeForce Now Ups Gaming Resolution To 1600p, Amazon Luna Gains More Titles – 9to5Google https://bexarcountynewsonline.com/bandwidth-geforce-now-ups-gaming-resolution-to-1600p-amazon-luna-gains-more-titles-9to5google/ Gaming Chromebook just make sense – they don’t need incredibly powerful GPUs or fast processors. All they need is a solid internet connection, which is exactly what Cloud Gaming thrives on. GeForce Now is spearheading this venture with a new upgrade right in Chrome and up to a resolution of 1600p and 120 FPS. Bandwidth is 9to5Google’s weekly look at the cloud gaming market. Every Friday, we take a look at the biggest news regarding services such as Nvidia GeForce Now, Amazon Luna, PlayStation Now, and Xbox Game Pass, among others. GeForce Now ups the resolution This past week, multiple gaming Chromebooks have surfaced, with Google pushing the niche corner of the market even further ahead. These Chromebooks are made specifically for cloud gaming with up to 16 GB of RAM and Intel processors. GeForce Now stated recently that the company has worked closely with Google in supporting the new Chromebooks coming out, and has ensured that each is ready for 1600p resolution and 120Hz of cloud gaming. So far, it looks like ASUS, Acer, and Lenovo all have a new Chromebook in the pipeline, and each comes with three free months of RTX 3080 memberships from GeForce Now. On top of that bigger news, GeForce Now is also bringing several new games to the service this week: Asterigos: Curse of the Stars Ozymandias: Bronze Age Empire Sim PC Building Simulator 2 The Last Oricru Rabbids: Party of Legends The Darkest Tales Scorn Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Closed Beta Dual Universe Amazon Luna adds new games to Retro and Luna+ Channel At the beginning of the month, Amazon Luna announced several new titles that would be coming through the next few weeks. Just this past week, three new titles have finally landed on the service. Two of the added games will live on the Retro Channel while one will be in the Luna+ section. The first title coming to Luna+ is Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? This new add is a delightful game that really has you asking if you can take on an elementary schooler. The game has tons of humor and color, coming in as a fun new title this week. On top of that, Toki and Arcade Paradise are coming to the Retro Channel. The latter is a fun title from Nose Bleed Games that has you taking care of the mundane tasks of a family laundromat, though turning it into a fully functioning arcade is your main goal. All three of these should prove to be fun additions to Amazon Luna. As far as the rest of the cloud gaming scene goes, it seems to be a pretty quiet week besides the overhaul GeForce Now is going through with a bump in resolution directly through Chrome and from its app. FTC: We use income earning auto affiliate links. Ballerific Travel: Vacation Planning Tips To Help Your Trip Finally Make It Out Of The Group Chat Balleralert.com
Ballerific Travel: Vacation Planning Tips To Help Your Trip Finally Make It Out Of The Group Chat – Balleralert.com https://bexarcountynewsonline.com/ballerific-travel-vacation-planning-tips-to-help-your-trip-finally-make-it-out-of-the-group-chat-balleralert-com/ Traveling in a large pack seldomly works out. A group chat of 15 can quickly dwindle to 2 or 3 when it’s time to board the plane. No matter how much proper planning goes into a trip, it’s hard to keep people on the same page, whether it’s money problems, timing issues, or disagreements. There are many reasons a group trip doesn’t go as planned. But don’t sweat because it’s possible to get the trip from the group text achieved using these helpful tips. Have a designated person for the whole trip or certain parts of it. If one person is willing to handle everything, that’s great. Or if each person is assigned to take a particular area, that can work too. For example, someone can be in charge of the hotel, another for the flights, and another for excursions. This assigns a point of contact so there is no confusion among the group. Agree on a budget. Everyone will have a different amount of money they feel comfortable spending on the trip. Everyone should weigh in on a reasonable amount they want to spend and then compromise and adjust their travel plans to include everyone. Everyone’s pockets aren’t the same, and it’s not uncommon for people to back out because of financial woes. Having a budget everyone agrees on helps eliminate financial problems down the line. Choose a destination. Let everyone say a place they think will be fun. A few people will likely want to go to the same place. From there, agree to a voting system, maybe choose the most mentioned destination or draw from a hat. Book flights ahead of time. Some airlines offer group rates and a payment plan. For example, Delta lets groups of 10 or more book 240 days before departure. “Delta Group Specialists customize Delta flight itineraries for groups of 10 or more passengers traveling on the same flight. You’ll get the advantage of competitive fares, flexible ticketing options, and support in booking and managing your group’s travel. Your booking will be secured with a booking fee and deposit as outlined in your contract,” its website reads. Book your accommodations. Figuring out where the group will stay is one of the main things on the trip. Large hotels are always an option, but an Airbnb may be a better stay. Smaller hotels, resorts, villas, and rented homes help keep the group together. Make these arrangements in advance to reserve whatever accommodations the group needs. Organize payment. Decide who will handle the payments and when payments will be due. Thanks to CashApp, Zelle, and other payment systems, sending money is easier. If you choose a responsible person to collect money and pay, it helps keeps things in order. Set plans while also leaving room for individual time. Nobody wants a trip that is structured from start to finish. Of course, plan some group activities like excursions and dinners. But make sure to leave some time for people to do their own thing so no one gets burned out. Enjoy!

Tips For Managing Food Bills Tower Hamlets
Tips For Managing Food Bills Tower Hamlets
Tips For Managing Food Bills – Tower Hamlets https://bexarcountynewsonline.com/tips-for-managing-food-bills-tower-hamlets/ MENU There are plenty of ways in which you can manage your food bills during the cost of living crisis. 1. Meal prep A lot of money is wasted on groceries that aren’t used and are just thrown out. Meal prepping is planning your meals out in the week – this helps you know exactly what you need to buy and in what quantity, reducing the size of your grocery shop, saving money and meaning less wastage. All you need to do is sit down with a pen and paper, make a seven day chart and choose what meals will be made each day. You can use websites like ‘BBC Good Food’ and ‘Cooking on a Bootstrap’ to help with ideas, recipes and accessing quantities. More on healthy eating on a budget here. 2. Supermarket reduced ‘yellow sticker’ discounts ‘Yellow sticker’ discounts are when items have been reduced to clear, and have got a yellow sticker on them. The first yellow stickers tend to appear mid-morning, and price reductions begin early evening, when stores cut prices by 75% and more, but timings depend on the supermarket. 3. Use a free app to find end-of-day discounts at cafés, restaurants & supermarkets Too Good To Go aims to reduce food waste and save you money at the same time. It links you to local restaurants, supermarkets, cafés and bakeries which have leftover food at the end of the day, and lets you buy it at a discounted rate. Plus food-sharing app Olio links you with others nearby who have surplus grub to give away, so it’s not wasted – like Freecycle does for unwanted furniture and other items. 4. Changing supermarkets Consider changing supermarkets for budget ones like Lidl and Aldi for cheaper groceries. A handy comparison tool, Trolley, lets you compare the cost of products at the major supermarkets. 5. Own brand or ‘Value’ groceries Consider switching the brands you use. Rather than buying branded goods, get the supermarket’s own brand version which will save you some money. Do this for each product and you could find your grocery bill down by a third or even more. 6. Loyalty schemes Make the most of supermarket loyalty schemes and discounts. 7. Cut out non-essentials Cut out non-essentials such as snacks, fizzy drinks and unnecessary food. 8. Use by dates VS Best before dates A use-by date on food is about safety. Never eat food after the use-by date, even if it looks and smells ok, as it could make you ill. However, the best before date (BBE) is about quality and not safety. Foods with a best before date indicate it will be safe to eat after this date but its flavour and texture might not be as good. If something is past its best-before date, you don’t necessarily need to throw it away – use its appearance and taste to decide. 9. Tools to use up fridge/cupboard leftovers To stop wasting food that you don’t know what to do with, use special sites that suggest recipes for the items left over in your fridge or cupboard. E.g  SuperCook or BigOven – just input what items are in your fridge or cupboard and they will suggest a recipe for them from thousands. Alternatively, just go to this site’s Old Style Recipe Index and scroll down to the relevant ingredient. 10.  Get free food from signing up for apps/offers Make sure you supplement these supermarket shopping tips by making the most of all the food freebies available, usually by signing up for a newsletter or app. The likes of Krispy Kreme, Burger King and Taco Bell offer freebies to get you through the door, yet often you don’t need to spend anything to get the freebie. See this guide for more detail on which apps/offers are available. 11.  Check out supermarket schemes Check out supermarket schemes for places kids can eat free or for as little as £1: https://www.towerhamletshomes.org.uk/news/places-kids-can-eat-free https://www.thch.org.uk/news/kids-eat-for-free-summer-2022-996/

Avatar Jail: Does The Metaverse Need Its Own Police Force? The National
‘Avatar Jail’: Does The Metaverse Need Its Own Police Force? – The National https://bexarcountynewsonline.com/avatar-jail-does-the-metaverse-need-its-own-police-force-the-national/ It may be only a virtual world – but crimes committed there could be very real indeed Can we expect to see avatar police officers on patrol in the metaverse? Illustration: Nick Donaldson / Getty Images Beta V.1.0 – Powered by automated translation Two people enter the metaverse. They appear as avatars, wear virtual reality headsets and haptic suits that provide virtual feedback to the body. One person virtually assaults the other. What happens next? It sounds utterly unreal but experts believe the metaverse’s murkier side, and the potential for crime from assault to hacking to even avatar rape, has yet to be fully considered. How to police the metaverse ― an online world where people may live their lives in the form of avatars ― has, then, opened a new frontier for governments, technological companies and police forces. The issue was in sharp focus this week at Abu Dhabi’s International Exhibition of National Security and Resilience conference where attendees heard hard questions being asked about trying to police the metaverse. “If we start to see the metaverse doing what I think it will do, which is become ever more realistic and ever more huge, then you have to start to ask very difficult questions about what physical policing in virtual reality represents,” said Gareth Stubbs, a former UK police officer who spoke at the conference on Monday. “If we introduce haptic suits with feedback from bodily touch … that opens up a huge amount of crime categories that focus on the body,” said Mr Stubbs, who lectures at Rabdan Academy in Abu Dhabi. “It could be regulated through things such as consent. But it is open to abuse and open to hacking and open to impersonation.” Some experts believe the metaverse could reshape the world of work and play. Reuters What is the metaverse? The metaverse is envisaged as a new online world where someone with a 3D avatar ― a representation of yourself ― uses a virtual reality headset to go to concerts, work or just socialise. It was first mentioned in a 1992 science fiction novel, Snow Crash. The online community, Second Life, that was released in 2003 was loosely based on the concept. But interest has increased in the past few years driven by advancements in technology and huge investment by companies such as Facebook, which rebranded as Meta in 2021. Some remain sceptical and it is thought the metaverse is still many years from fruition. However, interest is building and the UAE has announced it will establish a Ministry of Economy office there. Ajman Police has also conducted trials and Dubai’s Metaverse Assembly last month attracted experts from across the world to explore its potential. But questions are also being asked about policing and about who is responsible for regulating it. There have even been reports of avatars harassing others in Meta’s existing virtual reality world, Horizons. “Speaking from a US perspective, crimes in the metaverse relate mostly to inappropriate behaviour [harassment, use of explicit language, racism etc],” said Prof Marco Marabelli, an expert in the field who teaches at Bentley University in the US. “These are important issues. The problem is that because the metaverse ‘runs’ in real time, it is often difficult to keep digital traces of what happens on the platform or platforms. This makes it hard to prosecute perpetrators. This is a source of concern.” The technology to allow the metaverse to succeed, such as virtual reality headsets, is improving all the time. EPA Quicker response needed from regulators Experts at the Abu Dhabi conference suggested that governments and regulators around the globe were not moving quickly enough. Mr Stubbs said it was vital that the lawlessness of the early internet where criminals exploited the slow response of regulators was not repeated with the metaverse. “People would say it was the heyday of the internet,” he said. “Yeah it was but a lot of bad stuff happened as well as the good stuff. Look at cybercrime. That has been stratospheric in growth. This was the untold story as the internet was developing. “Law and regulation … will take years to set up and you’ll have that black spot … of unregulated space and that unregulated space gives space to bad actors. I’m not saying that’s all you will get [but] we should not be ignoring it.” Prof Marabelli said one of the problems with emerging technologies was that legislators often started to address the issue only once the damage was done. “One partial solution … is to generate high level laws and regulations that protect basic rights of citizens with respect to technologies. Data privacy laws, laws that regulate how algorithms can be used with the general public with respect to transparency and accountability and so on,” he said. “To this end, Europe is way ahead of the US,” he said, pointing to the adaption of GDPR and the proposed first-ever legal framework on the use of artificial intelligence. “But recently the [President Joe] Biden administration is making important steps towards protecting citizens from inappropriate use of algorithmic-based systems,” said Prof Marabelli, referring to the publication of the AI bill of rights, a set of guidelines that aims to encourage responsible use of artificial intelligence. He also pointed to the fact that governments don’t lead technology research like they used to ― private companies do ― and they often do not have the tools to assess technology because these companies frequently do not share research data on their innovations and potential dark side. He referred to the Wall Street Journal article that found Instagram led young teens with eating disorders to actually eat less. “If it weren’t for a whistleblower we would have never known about this internal research. This is highly problematic,” said Prof Marabelli. Gareth Stubbs is a former UK police officer who now lectures at Rabdan Academy in Abu Dhabi. Photo: Rabdan Academy How might the metaverse be policed? What would policing in the metaverse look like? First, the platforms could use online tools and artificial intelligence to detect errant behaviour. Meta even introduced a tool to try to stop bad behaviour where people can prevent others from interacting with them, but this puts the onus on users. Another is a system similar to speed cameras where someone who breaks the rules gets a fine in the real world, while a third is the emergence of volunteer police officers similar to moderators seen on social media groups today. But what is also possible, Mr Stubbs said, is a strange new world of police officer avatars dispensing online justice. “We might see … a police officer avatar on active patrol in much the same way as I’d be on foot patrol in Blackpool town centre,” said Mr Stubbs, who spent years on the beat on council estates in Blackpool. “So it could be a visual deterrent.” We could also see “avatar jail”, because the avatar is so tied to your real life, not being allowed to use it would be a real punishment. “I know that’s a reimaging of the custody system of sorts but it doesn’t cause any physical harm to the person,” Mr Stubbs said. “It is not technically incarceration but the boundaries are blurring. It is weird. But we will probably see the creation of a new type of policing in the metaverse. It won’t look like the old one. The challenge will be to try to figure out what it looks like.” How the metaverse will change the world Despite the scepticism from some quarters, investment is pouring into the metaverse. Meta chief executive Mark Zuckerberg this year said he envisioned a “billion people” in the metaverse spending hundreds of dollars each on digital goods. But experts caution that the VR headsets are still some way from being comfortable and it will take years before its potential to reshape sectors from education to health are seen. “It is currently at the centre of research of what we call ‘future of work’,” Prof Marabelli said. “However, the technology … is still very immature. Mark Zuckerberg said he thinks the metaverse will be ready for the general public in five years from now. I think that a decade could be a more accurate bet. But it will come. And will change many work practices and possibly our private lives. As the internet and social media did.” Updated: October 14, 2022, 6:00 PM

8 Best Crypto Private Sales To Invest In Now – Cryptonews https://bexarcountynewsonline.com/8-best-crypto-private-sales-to-invest-in-now-cryptonews/ Disclaimer: The Industry Talk section features insights by crypto industry players and is not a part of the editorial content of Cryptonews.com.  In the world of cryptocurrency, investing in a project before the masses is perhaps the best way to earn a profit. While finding private crypto sales can be a great way to achieve this, locating the best crypto private sales is far easier said than done.  Throughout this guide, we’ll be taking a look at eight of the best crypto private sales, discussing what a private crypto sale is, and explaining how they work. Let’s get started.  The Top 8 Crypto Private Sales to Buy in 2022 Below, we’ve included an overview of the very best crypto private sales as well as seven other projects that offer almost as much in the way of upside potential.  IMPT – The Overall Best Crypto Private Sale to Invest in WeSendit – Blockchain-Powered Gateway to Decentralized Storage Leap – New Project Providing a Platform for Sports People to Get Scouted WeSleep – Earn Crypto Rewards for Sleeping Panaroma – Private Crypto Sale Creating an Investor-Focused Exchange VitalVeda – Utilizing the Blockchain and Virtual Reality to Create a Metaverse Gym Stackspace – Crypto Private Sale Creating the Next Generation of Digital Marketplace Calvaria – Unique Play-to-Earn Crypto Card Game Analyzing the Best Private Token Sales  To provide investors with ample information, we’ve included detailed reviews of the best crypto private sales below. We’ve included projects that span a wide range of sectors and networks in order to provide the most comprehensive guide possible.  1. IMPT – The Overall Best Crypto Private Sale to Invest in With aims to disrupt a multi-billion dollar industry while benefiting the entire planet, IMPT is one of the most exciting crypto private sales on the market right now. To achieve its goals, the project plans to tokenize credits equal to offsetting 1 ton of carbon (carbon credits). This approach will drastically improve transparency in the sector, potentially boosting widespread adoption.  As it stands today, despite being worth a combined $273 billion, the voluntary and mandatory carbon offset sectors lack transparency, hurting buyer confidence and hindering global adoption. However, by making carbon credits verifiable and only working with organizations that have been audited by a third party, IMPT could change the status quo for the better.  In order to provide everyone with the opportunity to reduce their carbon footprint, IMPT will offer a couple of different ways to acquire carbon credits. They will, of course, be available to purchase on the IMPT platform but that’s not all. People will also be able to earn IMPT tokens to exchange for carbon credits simply for shopping with a long list of 10,000+ partner brands.  With the mandatory carbon offset market already worth over $270 billion, it’s no surprise that IMPT has created a system for a company to offset its carbon. As stated in the IMPT whitepaper, any business can partner with IMPT to allocate a portion of its sale margin to certified environmental organizations, benefiting the environment and hitting regulatory obligations with ease.  IMPT is one of the best crypto presales right now. Its currently in the first of three phases with 600 million tokens selling for $0.018 at the private sale stage The price of IMPT will then increase to $0.023 for the next 660 million tokens, before climbing to $0.028 for the final 540 million tokens during the second and third phases. IMPT is a massively exciting project that has the potential to increase in value substantially once released on the open market. Check out the IMPT presale today to snag some tokens for the lowest price possible and join the IMPT Telegram group to hear about the latest updates before anyone else. The private sale stage has already raised over $4m in under two weeks, so make sure you check it out before it’s too late. Visit IMPT Presale  2. WeSendit – Blockchain-Powered Gateway to Decentralized Storage WeSendit (WSI) is one of the best upcoming ICO (initial coin offering) projects on the market. The team behind the project aims to revolutionize the data storage sector by providing users with easy access to a wide range of established platforms that provide decentralized data storage services. The private sale is ongoing on the WeSendit website. WeSendit aims to improve privacy in the data storage sector through the use of decentralization. With the project being an established player in the sector for an impressive 10 years, WeSendit certainly has the experience necessary to perform well. The project will allow users to access a range of providers like Filecoin and Storj without hassle, making life far easier for users.  Overall, WeSendit is one of the most interesting private sales currently ongoing. The project has been spoken about in a number of well-known publications including G2.com and with a fully doxed team, WeSendit is doing well on the transparency front. With that said, only time will tell how the WSI token performs on the open market.  3. Leap – New Project Providing a Platform for Sports People to Get Scouted Leap (LEAP) is an innovative new cryptocurrency project that aims to change the way new talent is scouted in the sports industry via the creation of a platform that centers fans, talent, and decision-makers in a single location. The Leap private sale is expected to launch on October 31st with whitelist registration currently ongoing.  With the sports industry being worth hundreds of billions, a project with the potential to improve it could end up as one of the best long-term crypto projects out there. While the core functionality of Leap is still in the works, LEAP token holders will be able to stake their tokens for rewards, vote on decisions regarding the project’s future, and get early access to the platform.  While we’ll have to wait and see how the Leap platform develops, the project is unique and does show promise. With that said, private sales are risky investments so it’s always imperative to perform ample research before investing.  4. WeSleep – Earn Crypto Rewards for Sleeping Building on the various x-to-earn concepts that have become popular in the crypto space over the past year, WeSleep is a new project that allows its users to earn crypto rewards simply for sleeping. The project features two different tokens, $ZZZ (for rewards) and $WEZ (for everything else). The WeSleep private crypto sale is currently open for registration.  The project was created on the Solana blockchain, helping to keep fees low and settlement speed high. In order to engage users, the project will reward users with WEZ for completing various tasks which can then be staked to earn ZZZ. Similar to StepN, the rate of earnings will be based on the attributes of upgradable WeSleep NFTs.  Investors looking for the best private token sales in 2022 should keep an eye on WeSleep. The project seems to be well-designed and features a fairly unique concept, meaning it could perform similarly to StepN and become one of the best altcoins soon after its release. 5. Panaroma – Private Crypto Sale Creating an Investor-Focused Exchange Panaroma (PANA) is a new project aiming to build a crypto exchange that puts investors first. To achieve this, Panaroma aims to increase transparency within the sector, providing users with the lowest possible fees and access to a variety of exclusive crypto assets. Registration for the project’s private sale is currently ongoing. The project aims to create a new breed of investing platform by building both a centralized and decentralized exchange, an NFT marketplace, and even a launchpad for the best IEO cryptos.  The PANA token will power the entire ecosystem with holders receiving exclusive access to certain projects and reduced fees, similar to the FTT token from FTX.  While there is a wide range of different exchanges out there, few offer the number of features touted by Panaroma. As such, the project is up there with the best crypto private sales but as always its imperative to perform the proper due diligence before investing.  6. VitalVeda – Utilizing the Blockchain and Virtual Reality to Create a Metaverse Gym VitalVeda (VVG) is another project worthy of consideration for investors on the hunt for the best crypto private sale. The project will utilize blockchain technology, the Metaverse, and virtual reality in order to create a virtual gym of sorts, allowing people all over the world to come together and get fit. The founder has been KYC verified by IDOPresales and the private sale is ongoing.  Throughout the pandemic, people struggled to stay healthy as the typical avenues, such as gyms, fitness classes, etc were all closed. However, VitalVeda aims to get a platform that can help people achieve their fitness goals from the comfort of their own homes. To incentivize exercise, the project will reward holders of any VVSW NFT with crypto for staying fit.   While move-to-earn projects have become rather prevalent, VitalVeda has a much larger focus on helping people with specific goals (e,g, building strength and losing fat). With personal trainers costing upward of $30 per hour, VitalVeda could end up being the best crypto private sale within the fitness sector.  7. Stackspace – Crypto Private Sale Creating the Next Generation of Digital Marketplace Stackspace (STSP) is a project aiming to create the largest and most diverse digital market within the crypto space. The project is focused on NFTs in all forms but will specialize in gaming/Metaverse-related assets. The Stackspace private sale is open for registration and will run until November 12th.  To appeal to a larger audience Stackspace will be a multi-chain marketplace, allowing a hug...

Markenzy Lapointe, a former prosecutor in the Southern District of Florida U.S. attorney’s office, joined Pillsbury Winthrop in 2017 from law firm Boies Schiller Flexner. Lapointe, who is Haitian-American, would be the first Black attorney to serve at the top of the Miami-based federal prosecutor’s office in south Florida, Democratic U.S. Representative Frederica Wilson said in a June op-ed that called for his nomination. President Joe Biden last month announced Lapointe’s nomination. Register now for FREE unlimited access to Reuters.com He has advised corporate clients including Fujifilm Holdings America Corp, Truist Financial Corp and Qatar International Bank, according to his financial disclosure. Financial ethics filings are mandatory for many senior-level executive branch officials, and they can provide a window into compensation at some of the country’s largest law firms. They record income received from the prior year up to the date of the filing. The disclosures also provide an ethics roadmap, since a new U.S. government lawyer is barred from immediately touching matters involving former clients. Lapointe did not immediately respond to a message on Friday seeking comment. Pillsbury last year saw an uptick in profits per equity partner to $2.1 million, and revenue per lawyer at the roughly 650-attorney firm climbed to $1.2 million, industry publication The American Lawyer reported in April. U.S. attorneys can make up to about $176,000 annually. The Southern District of Florida prosecutor’s office handles investigations in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach and other cities. Lapointe would oversee an office of about 245 federal prosecutors. He would succeed career prosecutor Juan Antonio Gonzalez, who was appointed as the U.S. attorney by Attorney General Merrick Garland in October 2021. Gonzalez, an assistant U.S. attorney in the Southern District of Florida since 1998, declined to comment on Friday. Gonzalez has played a central role in recent months in the ongoing investigation of former U.S. President Donald Trump’s handling of presidential records taken from the White House and stored at his Mar-a-Lago estate. Trump has denied wrongdoing. The Trump-era Miami U.S. attorney was Ariana Fajardo Orshan, the first Senate-confirmed woman to lead the office. Florida Gov. Commentary: Safety Charter Schools Accountability This Is What Parents Want San Antonio Express-News
Commentary: Safety Charter Schools Accountability This Is What Parents Want San Antonio Express-News
Commentary: Safety, Charter Schools, Accountability — This Is What Parents Want – San Antonio Express-News https://bexarcountynewsonline.com/commentary-safety-charter-schools-accountability-this-is-what-parents-want-san-antonio-express-news/ For the first time in years, Texas parents will have education at the top of their minds when they vote this election. In a May survey by the Harris Poll, more Texas parents named education as one of their top three political issues, above immigration, taxes, health care or crime. The reasons for this shift in attitudes are well-documented. As mothers and fathers endured school closures during the pandemic, they intimately observed what and how their kids were learning. Many were frustrated. Even as the education system gradually returns to normal, the genie is out of the bottle. On education, Texas parents are pragmatists, not partisans. In fact, 83 percent told the Harris Poll they would be willing to vote for someone outside of their political party if the candidate’s education platform aligned with their views. That might be surprising, but consider the stakes. When you’re focused on your child’s ability to read, do math and think critically, the siren song of partisanship is much less captivating. So when it comes to education policy, candidates should be focused on thoughtful bipartisan solutions. Here are four ideas candidates should champion: • Safety must come first. The horrific tragedy in Uvalde underscored the need for a permanent change in the way Texas approaches the protection of our students and educators, including allocating greater resources. Right now, the state allocates $50 million to school safety as part of the education budget — only about $10 per student. This forces schools to make agonizing and deeply unfair choices. How does a principal decide between hiring a security guard and hiring a math teacher? • Candidates should double down on policies from recent legislative sessions that have proven to be effective at helping students make academic progress — especially those who most need support. When lawmakers passed House Bill 3 in 2019, they addressed a glaring need to improve literacy among younger students. More than 90,000 teachers in grades K-3 have now either completed or started “reading academies,” and many point to that training as a key driver of improved instruction. Texas students’ reading scores have rebounded more quickly than math, with many districts doing better than before COVID. Lawmakers made a similarly bold move in 2021 with House Bill 4545, which requires small-group tutoring for students who are behind. Neither law was easy for schools to implement, and they are compounding burnout at a time when we need teachers more than ever. The state could address this by allowing new teachers to complete the reading instruction course over the summer. Yes, these challenges make it tempting for candidates to step on the brakes and promise “relief” to adults at the expense of students who are benefiting. But this would be the wrong move — both educationally and politically. • Candidates must similarly hold their ground on administering the STAAR exams. Like clockwork, pressure to “end state testing” emerges whenever an election approaches. It’s catnip for special interest groups that prefer as little accountability as possible. It’s also a complete nonstarter for parents who want to meaningfully understand how their children are doing. • Finally, anyone running on education should champion more school options within the public education system. That includes public charter schools, which are tuition-free, open to all students and allow more parents to find exactly the right learning environment for their children. Charter schools remain incredibly popular — more than 58,000 students in Texas are on waiting lists to attend them — but they aren’t the only way to empower parents to find the best school fit for their kids. Lawmakers can soften, or even erase, the rigid school district boundaries that fence off families from schools that might help their students succeed. San Antonio ISD, for example, encourages all children in Bexar County to enroll in its “choice schools” and magnet programs. It’s a great example of democratizing public education instead of treating our school systems as walled gardens. These policy ideas might not have the flash and sizzle of the culture wars that sometimes dominate political debate. But for any candidate interested in winning — by helping parents win — they’re a recipe for success. Starlee Coleman is a mom of a public school student and the CEO of the Texas Public Charter Schools Association.

6 Hidden Costs Of International Travel The Motley Fool
6 Hidden Costs Of International Travel The Motley Fool
6 Hidden Costs Of International Travel – The Motley Fool https://bexarcountynewsonline.com/6-hidden-costs-of-international-travel-the-motley-fool/ Image source: Getty Images Double-check your travel budget before your next adventure. Key points Traveling to other countries is a great way to see more of the world and enjoy new experiences. When you travel abroad, you should be aware of potential extra costs before you depart so you can outline your vacation budget. Foreign transaction fees, checked bag fees, and data roaming charges are some extra expenses that could make your trip more expensive. Traveling abroad can be exciting, but it requires planning. Before taking an international vacation, it’s a good practice to outline an itinerary and prepare for all of the possible expenses of your upcoming adventure. If you’re not careful, hidden costs may come up, and these costs can break your budget and make your trip stressful. Watch out for these hidden expenses. 1. Foreign transaction fees When you travel abroad, you’ll be paying in the local currency. If you’re not using a credit card with no foreign transaction fees, your purchases can quickly get expensive. Most cards that charge these fees charge 3% of the purchase price. You can prepare by bringing a no foreign transaction fee credit card to help you stay on your vacation budget. 2. Checked baggage fees Unless you’re a light packer, it can be pricey to fly with a checked bag. Depending on the route, some airlines charge a fee for each bag you check. It can easily cost $30 or more per bag each way. If your airline ticket doesn’t include a checked bag, using airline credit cards with checked baggage perks can be an easy way to eliminate extra fees. 3. Taxes and fees When traveling to another country, you should also be aware of the potential that there may be additional taxes and fees to pay when you check in to your accommodation. For example, many European cities charge a city or tourist tax, usually collected when you arrive at your hotel or home rental, rather than being tacked on to the price you already paid. Keep this in mind when making reservations so you can budget for these extra charges. 4. Data roaming charges While it would be nice if your cell phone could work globally without extra fees, that’s not always the case. Many mobile service providers charge fees to use data abroad. If you’re not careful, this expense can get pricey. Check if your service provider offers a travel-friendly plan before your next international trip, or consider switching to a global data–friendly mobile service provider. Another option is to buy a local SIM card once you arrive at your destination to continue using your phone affordably. 5. Money conversion fees and ATM fees When you go to another country, you’ll need to use the local currency when paying in cash. It’s essential to plan how you will get local currency. It may be more affordable to get foreign currency from your bank at home. Another option is to convert your cash once you arrive. If you plan to do this, consider the conversion rates and any fees that will be charged before doing so to make sure that you’re making a smart choice. If you plan to use an ATM to get currency when you arrive, you should also consider whether you will be charged ATM fees. 6. Wifi charges While many international destinations have plentiful wifi in public spaces and stores, restaurants, and cafes, not all do. It’s worth researching whether you’ll be able to connect easily at no extra cost when traveling to your destination. If not, you may need to prepare to pay for wifi or spend some extra money at places that offer wifi to customers. Considering these potential costs now can help you better plan your vacation budget. As you make reservations, consider using a travel credit card to pay for your travel expenses so you can earn valuable rewards.
