another axl trick, most people know this one by now but just to be sure decided to throw it out there. axl can fast rc cancel his rensen into wintermantis which makes for a near impossible to react command throw. unless they are ready for it. extra useful when you're in the corner because you will switch sides and if you have more meter left you can rc after mantis for a wallbreak combo. note: depending on the character and the distance the command throw might whiff because they are still in blockstun. thumbnail stolen from: twitter.com/henaki_/status/1426744964763906051?s=20 #guiltygearstrive #guiltygear #ggst

Axl's Rensen 8 followup will often leave him at least +4 when blocked and in range to enter an offense with his normals. Couldn't find one of the many better videos showcasing this, so you're stuck with my clumsy rambling I'm afraid. Throw is 2 frame startup btw forgot to mention, that's what can give you a big enough gap to throw his 6 frame 5k at certain ranges, and very consitently against a c.S starter (8 frame startup) Also I made fun of "just IB it bro" but hey the move is pretty slow so you could do it with some consistency! Try going into training mode yourself to see what your character can do in this situation!

basically if chipp thinks you will end with rainwater they will iad most likely to counter you but if you know they will do that just delay your snail a litttle so their iad comes out and then you can punish it for massive damage in the corner. i could have converted more damage but he died before i even finished my combo. I'm making video's that generally are relatively on the short side and are entertaining enough for how long they last. as far as i know this is the only way to wallbreak off of a throw with 50 meter. bomberloops don't launch high enough because it starts with a throw. really dissapointed how little creativity axls combos seem to have i hope they make his routes more interesting in the future. that being said knowing this combo is great because it makes your throw a lot scarier with meter. update: theres a more optimized version with red rc drift upward will be uploaded soon. the easiest way to land this sequence is to condition the opponent to block low by doing 2k into 2d into rainwater or nothing. that way the next time you do 2k they might keep blocking low and react too late to the dust or throw. i just barely got started with doing these setplay things with axl (learned it from ky and sol players using it on me) and its really fun. you can technically do it with any character because everyone can link 2k into 5d or 2d.
