GGST v1.09 - Exploring Fuzzy Defense against Sol Close Slash
Figured I'd make this video before the October patch as the system changes may make this video obsolete. I do not really play Strive but the meta interests me from a viewer perspective. This is an option select that I recorded with the help of EddieInput that is meant to deal with the guessing game after blocking Sol's close Slash. It's honestly really difficult to do though so probably very limited in usefulness. Essentially, after blocking a close slash, time an IBFD to occur during a non-delayed follow-up gatling, and immediately input a fuzzy backdash. Similar fuzzy defense can probably be employed against other character gatlings.

I found this gem while labbing against some Nagoriyuki strings. Inputs below ⤵ Patch: 1.09 Balance Patch: 1.04 ~Mid-screen start. Requires 50% tension. Giovanna Inputs: (CH) c.S → (JC) → j.S → (ADC) → j.S* → j.HS → (land) → c.S → 6HS → 6HS** → 6HS** → 66(RC) → (land) → (walk)*** → c.S → 2HS → 236K → (charged) 5D Nagoriyuki Inputs: 5S → 5S → 214HS ○ 2K Notes: * There's a slight delay before the second j.S so that you're low enough for the "j.HS → (land) → c.S" string ** You can increase the carry distance of "6HS → 6HS → 6HS" by adding a slight delay between inputs. In this combo, both the second and third hits use this technique. *** A dash can be used here if you find that walking is too inconsistent. #guiltygear #strive #giovanna #nagoriyuki #GGST
