Today's random science thing: the most visible color in the spectrum is a yellowish-green at the 555 nm (nanometer) wavelength. That's because it's the wavelength that most stimulates the greatest number of cones in your eyes. If you're curious, this is what it looks like:

"ChatBot" is bad design
"ChatBot" is bad design
As anyone who has ever seen anything I have created knows: I am not a designer. So take my reasoning and thinking here with a grain of salt. I do have many designers amongst my friends and I do think that a lot of software engineering falls within the domain of design to a certain […]

Somewhere at Apple, a designer is watching their thoughtful Vision Pro interface fix get twisted into "Liquid Glass". It's a company-wide design disaster that's made key screens look like a Dribbble redesign fever dream. Here's what I think happened 🧵 (Spoiler: Good design thinking got corrupted by corporate process

WCAG 3.0’s Proposed Scoring Model: A Shift In Accessibility Evaluation — Smashing Magazine
WCAG 3.0’s Proposed Scoring Model: A Shift In Accessibility Evaluation — Smashing Magazine
WCAG is evolving. Since 1999, the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines have defined accessibility in binary terms: either a success criterion is met or not. But real user experience is rarely that simple. WCAG 3.0 rethinks the model — prioritizing usability over compliance and shifting the focus toward the quality of access rather than the mere presence of features. Could this be the start of a new era in accessibility?

This is Japan’s most extreme minimalist. 😮‍💨 His specially designed shirt can hold all his belongings 🤯 He claims he has flown without baggage just carrying everything in his shirt - this is the only claim I’m in disbelief because I have a carry on and only removing the laptop at pre-flight check is a hassle to me 😅

Design is a (hard) job.
Design is a (hard) job.
DESIGN WAS so much easier before I had clients. I assigned myself projects with no requirements, no schedule, no budget, no constraints. By most definitions, what I did wasn’t even design—except that it ended up creating new things, some of which still exist on the web. Soon I had requirements, schedules, and constraints, but most […]

Last year I was experimenting with something called toner foiling - basically, you print a design with a laser printer, then use heat to fuse metallic foil to the toner. The foil only sticks where there’s toner, and the result is this super crisp, shiny finish, and the whole process was weirdly satisfying. Thinking it’s time to bring it back for another series soon…
