'One Battle After Another': Leonardo DiCaprio stars in this action thriller : NPR
Paul Thomas Anderson's action thriller starring Leonardo DiCaprio is a loose adaptation of Thomas Pynchon's Vineland. It weaves zany dark comedy, sociopolitical satire and controlled narrative chaos.
Directed by visionary science-fiction animator René Laloux (FANTASTIC PLANET) and designed by the legendary Jean Giraud (a.k.a. Mœbius), THE TIME MASTERS is a visually fantastic foray into an existentialist space adventure.
The new 4K restoration screens this Saturday & Sunday at Nitehawk Williamsburg in ANIMATION FOR ADULTS.

'Task' is a new, compelling crime drama from the creator of 'Mare of Easttown'
Mark Ruffalo stars as a former priest turned FBI agent in Brad Ingelsby's new HBO miniseries. Set in small-town Pennsylvania, Task is packed with action and conflict, but it also has a lot of heart.

You'll find a gripping new internet thriller in the 'Cloud'
The internet and its discontents run wild in a new film by Kiyoshi Kurosawa, a prolifically offbeat Japanese filmmaker who's spent the last four decades putting subversive spins on traditional genres.
I like Parasite. I respect it.
It’s razor sharp, brilliantly constructed, and absolutely earned its moment.
But Mulholland Drive is one of the greatest cinematic achievements in the history of film. Period.
It’s working on a completely different level than anything else on that list. The ambition, the execution, the emotional and psychological depth, it’s just not close.
There are great films on the New York Times list.
But Mulholland Drive should be number one.

Rewatched Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy last night. That film, and Page Eight, are an absolute masterclass in intelligent espionage thrillers, in my view. What other films in that genre would the threadiverse recommend? I want more of the same!
I found this baffling animation called Hanna-Barbera's Rock Odyssey. Scatman Crothers narrates a woman's search for love through the musical decades of the '50s to the '80s. All the music is sound alike covers. Considered lost for a time, it's nuts. 🤯
Since Netflix and the creators behind Black Mirror made no statement about this, I did the research myself and can confirm that Black Mirror’s S07E02 Bête Noire have indeed 2 versions: BERNIE’s and BARNIE’s.
I also overlayed the 2 versions on top of each other and found the script differences and the editing/VFX/lens use.
Black Mirror (Season 7, Netflix, April 10): The sequel to USS Callister (2017) is titled USS Callister Into Infinity.
Infinity is the revolutionary immersive gaming system seen in the first episode.
Directed by Toby Haynes ("One Way Out" in Andor), this sequel is an 88-minutes long movie with Cristin Milioti, Jimmi Simpson, Billy Magnussen...
It’s Sunday night. Let’s talk movies. Some movies you can only watch once. Not because they’re bad, but because they hit too hard. You remember every image. Every feeling. They’re burned into your brain. You’re glad you saw them. But you never want to go through it again.
Here are ten movies that did that to me.
