It’s even different from Bronx and Brooklyn drill in uniquely twisted and #punkrock way. Something about Atlanta Drill Rap acts more like Black #punkrock than traditional gangsta rap and after watching #asaprocky new video Punk Rocky, I knew I had to adjust my Black Punk Rock model to include artists like Baby Kia, Anti Da Menace, L5 and others.

In 1970, the Iranian band Black Cats delivered a soulful rendition of “I Believe in My Soul,” blending Western jazz influence with Persian flair. Formed in Tehran and known for their sharp suits and smooth harmonies, the Black Cats were part of a larger cultural wave that embraced global sounds while still holding onto regional identity. Their music is a time capsule—capturing a brief, electrifying moment when Iran pulsed with artistic experimentation, freedom, and a vibrant nightlife scene.

It’s been 30 years since the release of @coldcutofficial “Journeys by DJ: 70 Minutes of Madness” mix!
Coldcut pushed the boundaries of what a DJ mix could be by incorporating changes in tempo, spoken word samples, scratching and layering. The intricate production, which involved studio editing (using ADAT and early computer software), made the mix feel more like an album than a DJ set.
It’s safe to say it has left a lasting impact on electronic and dance music culture.
