Today we are going to make a jQuery plugin which uses YouTube’s chromeless player, and creates our own set of minimalistic controls, which allows for perfect integration with your designs. The supported controls include a Play/Pause/Replay button, and a clickable progress bar. The plugin is going to use YouTube’s gdata api to determine whether embedding has been allowed for the video, and fetch extensive information about it, such as title, description, tags, screenshots & more, which you can use to improve the plugin.

The American Museum of Natural History today unveiled the American Museum of Natural History Explorer app for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, designed to help users better navigate through the Museum’s various exhibitions. The Museum has been newly outfitted with indoor Wi-Fi, and users can use the app [iTunes link] to pinpoint their location and receive turn-by-turn directions through the 45 permanent exhibition halls, theaters, restrooms, cafes and shops. In addition, the app can be used to access customized visual and audio tours, a fossil treasure hunt, and further information about more than 140 specimens and objects on display — all of which can easily be shared to e-mail, Facebook and Twitter.

For all I know, other commercial tools can create them by now, but more importantly, you can easily create epub eBooks with free software if you don't need commercial tools to create some XML files (mostly XHTML) and zip them up together. I certainly don't.
