Emerging Talent Centre Physiotherapist
As a Physiotherapist at Charlton Athletic Football Club's Emerging Talent Centre (ETC), your role is crucial in providing appropriate first response and ongoing care to players, ensuring they experience a safe, secure, and supportive environment. You will also serve as an advocate and guardian of the women's game.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Liaise with coaching staff regarding players" injury status and availability
- Attend training sessions and matches throughout the season
- Assess and manage injuries and illnesses of ETC Players
- Provide treatment, rehabilitation, and individual injury prevention programs
- Maintain records meeting The FA and professional bodies" standards
- Conduct medical screening of trialists
- Communicate with parents/carers regarding physiotherapy/sports therapy queries
- Ensure adherence to rules and best practices for physiotherapy/sports therapy provision
- Maintain clean treatment areas and identify health and safety risks
**Multi Disciplinary working & Culture:**
- Advise and direct other staff on players" needs
- Educate coaches on physiotherapy/sports therapy provision
- Design an ETC site emergency action plan
- Support individual player needs and operate within professional boundaries
- Work with Safeguarding Manager to prioritize player and staff welfare
- Assist with administrative activities such as injury audits
**Self Development:**
- Seek feedback and reflect on personal performance for improvement
- Stay updated on current research and evidence-based practices in physiotherapy/sports therapy
- Maintain professional qualifications through CPD activities
- Create and follow a personalized Development Action Plan
- Stay informed on performance research to support coaching development
- Work with an advisor or mentor from outside the ETC
**Education/Qualifications/Training:**
**Essential:**
- Chartered physiotherapist and registered member of HCPC
- Medical indemnity to treat/advise ETC players
- Full Advanced Emergency Aid qualification (Level 4 ITMMIF)
- For Sports Therapists: Full membership of the Society of Sports Therapy, FA Level 1 Introduction to First Aid in Football, FA Safeguarding Children, FA DBS
**Desirable:**
- Additional qualifications and memberships as a Physiotherapist
- Professional development in relevant areas
- Experience in sports medicine and knowledge of anti-doping regulations
**Additional Information:**
- Full-time role including weekends and evenings
- UK eligibility to live and work
- Commitment to health & safety regulations and safeguarding children
- DBS check may be required
