Everyone at Charlton Athletic is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Steve Thompson, aged 70, following a long battle with cancer. Steve made 112 appearances for the Addicks and played an important part in our 1985/86 promotion-winning side, taking Charlton back to the top tier for the first time in 29 years.
