Fecal Microbiota Transplantation for Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor-Induced Colitis Is Safe and Contributes to Recovery: Two Case Reports - PubMed
Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have improved the prognosis in multiple cancer types. However, ICIs can induce immune-related adverse events such as immune-mediated enterocolitis (IMC). The gut microbiota may be implicated in IMC development. Therefore, we investigated fecal microbiota transplan …

Effectiveness and Safety of Fecal Microbiota Transplantation for Clostridioides Difficile Infection: Results From a 5344-Patient Cohort Study
Fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) is recommended for the prevention of recurrent Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI).1 Randomized trials have reported promising efficacy and safety among patients treated with FMT following standard of care (SOC) CDI antibiotics compared with SOC CDI antibiotics alone. However, these trials are small, with methodological limitations.2 Potential adverse events, especially in immunocompromised patients, highlight the importance of ensuring continued data collection on clinical outcomes.

The Brain-Gut-Microbiota Interplay in Depression: a key to design innovative therapeutic approaches - PubMed
Depression is the most prevalent mental disorder in the world associated with huge socio-economic consequences. While depressive-related symptoms are well known, the molecular mechanisms underlying disease pathophysiology and progression remain largely unknown. The gut microbiota (GM) is emerging as …

Dysbiosis of gut microbiota inhibits NMNAT2 to promote neurobehavioral deficits and oxidative stress response in the 6-OHDA-lesioned rat model of Parkinson's disease - PubMed
Taken together, we demonstrated that dysbiosis of gut microbiota suppressed NMNAT2 expression, thus exacerbating neurobehavioral deficits and oxidative stress response in 6-OHDA-lesioned rats, which could be rescued by FMT or NMNAT2 restoration.

Yadav et al. apply a multiomics approach to study the effects of FMT from obese patients, pre- and post-RYGB surgery, into germ-free mice and show that the post-surgery stool improves host metabolism, with concomitant changes in microbiota composition and metabolomic differences compared with pre-surgery FMT mice.

Fecal microbiota transplants: Two reviews explore what's worked, what hasn't, and where do we go from here
Fecal microbiota transplants are the most effective and affordable treatment for recurrent infections with Clostridioides difficile, an opportunistic bacterium and the most common cause of hospital-acquired intestinal infections. However, attempts to treat chronic noncommunicable diseases such as ulcerative colitis and metabolic syndrome via fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) have yielded mixed results.
