(PDF) How to Build Pride in the Workplace?

The question of "pride" in relation to the employee/employer relationship comes up a lot in internal surveys, in my experience. This paper seems to seek to take a fairly technical approach to understanding the importance and impact.

It does raise the more general question though: what does it really mean to be proud of your employer?

Open plan offices are terrible for you
The evidence is overwhelming: open plan offices are absolutely terrible. For everyone. They make employees stressed, decrease team communication, and lower productivity. While there has been a lot of anecdotal evidence on this, recent studies have shown the real impact...

How mindfulness can make you a darker person
How mindfulness can make you a darker person

Mindfulness can be a useful tool, and is rightly suggested as a tool in the toolbox of good mental health. But like all tools it can have its problems if not used correctly.

To quote form the start of the article:

"Mindfulness is thought to have multiple benefits – but it can also make you less likely to feel guilty about wrongdoing and derail your moral compass."

Excellent thread about experiences with a person with BPD
Excellent thread about experiences with a person with BPD

So many of the comments in this thread really hit home, and put into words my experiences, in ways I'd never be able to. I really wish I had the ability to explain like this.

What's really helpful here is it's healing to see people talk about exactly the things I went through. It's sort of reassuring to know you're not alone, you didn't imagine it, that it really did happen.

The Art of Not Thinking
The Art of Not Thinking

Not my normal kind of read as I don't generally go in for this sort of blog; but this particular post does do a good job of describing how I tend to approach simple but important things that need doing on a daily or weekly basis.

Doing things is easy, starting doing them can be hard -- especially really useful things like meal prep, general housework, exercise, etc.

How To Forgive Someone : Life Kit : NPR
An interesting essay on the importance of forgiveness, and how it can be about personal recovery rather than letting someone off the hook for abuse. It’s a tough lesson to learn, but ultimately useful, I’ve found.
