T4T LUV NRG presents the title track from Eris Drew's forthcoming debut album "Quivering In Time", weeks ahead of the full album's release on October 29, 2021. Mid-tempo breaks, throbbing bass and applied tremolos are the foundation for Eris's song about finding hope amidst chaos.

About the album...
In 2020, after the release of Trans Love Vibration (NAIVE, 2018) and Transcendental Access Point (Interdimensional Transmissions, 2020), Eris moved from her hometown of Chicago to rural New Hampshire and recorded the nine beautiful songs featured here. Her first album feels something like her DJ sets, with stacked layers of vinyl samples and turntable manipulations serving as a fast-moving foundation for hand-played keyboard riffs, walls of percussion and sampled, scratched and strummed guitar tones. On each song for the album Eris expresses the anxiety and hope of her present. She wrote, recorded, and mixed the album as she stared into the forest through her studio window, collapsing present and past into future, her memories and body literally quivering in time.
The songs are cast with Eris’s experiences and intentions. The plucky progressive Loving Clav is in the form of an evocation (“good times come to me now....”), while the tracks Time to Move Close and Show U LUV express Eris’s longing for togetherness. The hardcore Pick ‘Em Up (“...and it might be a different story”) and organ-heavy Ride Free are funky odes to psychedelics, hard dancing and the subjectivity of real lived experience. The twinkling house of Howling Wind and the tempo-shifting bop of Sensation capture the mystery of the forest cabin where Eris spent most of the last 15 months. Two booming hip house dubs round out the album, Baby and Quivering in Time, each an itchy track about hope and personal resilience. As with her prior work, Eris’s approach to music making is unique and genre-dissolving. Ultimately, her special sound is a metaphor for her main message, which is that every person deserves to be themself.

DJ Manny is both known and unknown. Despite being firmly embedded within the Footwork elite and being regarded by many as a DJ's DJ, Manny has yet to receive the kind of attention his peers have. His joyous new album for Planet Mu "Signals In My Head" is set to alter that for good.
Born in March 1990 in Chicago but raised in Robbins/Harvey, IL, Manuel Gaines first encountered Juke/Footwork before he was 10 years old while out with his brother at a party he was too young to be at. Dancing became a big thing for him, then throwing parties, then meeting Rashad and DJ Spinn when he was in middle school, then making his first recordings at his cousin Jonathan's house (R.I.P.) using FL Studios. His first release "Kush On Deck" came about in 2010 with DJ Rashad's help, when he was already a ten year veteran of the scene.
Here we are eleven years later and "Signals In My Head" marks a long worked for new chapter in DJ Manny's career. Now based in Brooklyn, New York, where he lives with partner SUCIA! Manny's sound has widened out and taken on a more romantic edge. He openly admits that his goal for the new album was "to do something that nobody (in Footwork) had ever done before which is an R&B love type of album but still keeping it footwork, juke, house, techno, with a few breaks. I just want people to know it's love out there." Tracks like "U Want It", "Never Was Ah Hoe" and the title cut "Signals In My Head" are strong standouts that show what DJ Manny means when he says 'R&B love.'
"Signals..." also brings in a drum & bass flavour, something you'll find on cuts like "Good Love" and on "Havin' Fun" made with DJ Phil. When asked about D&B Manny shouts out LTJ Bukem as a inspiration. Tracks like "Club GTA" and "That Thang" also call back to the classic Chicago house of the nineties while "Smoke 'n' Fade Away" and album closer "At First Site" both recall the golden era of Detroit techno. Meanwhile "Wants My Body", created with DJ Chap, and "All I Need" are classic Footwork workouts sure to ignite dancefloors.
Looking back at the selection, DJ Manny says he was "actually able to get the sound I wanted." His set up, a mixture of MPC, Abelton, Boss drum machine and synths like the Triton and Omni has served him well. Well aware that some in the past have thought of him as a sleeper - he notes "It's not a problem to be low key at all with your music, when you trying to better yourself and your sound." DJ Manny has succeeded in moving himself forward. "Signals In My Head" brings us back to the joy of Footwork as a dance, as a mid-west American movement and most importantly as a mental and spiritual boost.
Emeka Ogboh | Beyond The Yellow Haze | A-TON LP11 by Ostgut Ton | A-TON | unterton
'Beyond The Yellow Haze' is the debut release by Nigerian sound and installation artist Emeka Ogboh on Ostgut Ton sublabel A-TON. Combining subtle layers of ambient electronics, dance music and field recordings from the city of Lagos, Ogboh’s compositions reflect both the Nigerian city’s soundscapes as well as the artist’s increasing immersion in electronic music since moving to Berlin six years ago.
Like his sound installation 'Ayilara' for Berghain’s main floor in the current 'STUDIO BERLIN' exhibition, 'Beyond The Yellow Haze' contains a veritable atonal orchestra of honking, motors, sound systems, sidewalk sales pitches and various sonic artifacts of Lagos’s Danfo bus stations and beyond. These serve as both punctuation and swirling atmosphere within a kaleidoscope of bass and polyrhythms. The unpredictable result is at once place-specific and geographically indefinable. A city in situ – and processed in memory and rhythm very far away.
The recordings were originally included as part of Ogboh’s 2018 exhibition 'No Condition Is Permanent' at Galerie Imane Farès and self-released as a stamped and signed artist edition. 'Beyond The Yellow Haze' will be released on A-TON as a 2x12'' LP on black vinyl and in digital formats.
Born in 1977, Emeka Ogboh’s artistic practice focuses on ethico-poltical questions through sound, food and scent. His diverse body of work includes installation, video, photography and beer and has been featured in dokumenta14, the Venice Biennale, the Brooklyn Museum and the American National Museum of African Art, amongst others. He lives and works in Lagos and Berlin.

The first single from Loraine James' new album 'Reflection' is a solo introduction and a reset. It's a direct song called Simple Stuff vocalled directly and diaristically by Loraine, a minimal, gentle plea to be treated equally (as a black, queer woman) over criss-crossing drums. Loraine's vocals dissolve into distortion and fx's as if they are getting lost and then heard again.
Reflection is Released on 4th June 2021 on Hyperdub
