U.S. Air Force Col. Theresa Weems, 60th Operations Group commander, conducts “touch-and-goes” aboard a KC-10 Extender during her final flight July 24, 2019, at Travis Air Force Base, California. The flight, which is a military tradition, served as an opportunity for the Travis community to honor Weems and wish her well on her next assignment. A U.S. KC-10 Extender departs after aerial refueling with a 28th Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron KC-135 Stratotanker during a combat air refueling mission over an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia, Sept. 21, 2019. Although the KC-10's primary mission is aerial refueling, it can combine the tasks of a tanker and cargo aircraft by refueling fighters and simultaneously carry the fighter support personnel and equipment on overseas deployments.
