Duplicating Tabs in XYplorer | ThoughtAsylum
XYplorer is my preferred file manager on Windows. It contains a large number of features that are just too enticing for someone like me to pass up so it came as little bit of a surprise to me when in its tab based interface I couldn’t find a way to quickly duplicate a tab. However XYplorer is a scriptable file manager so it was a pretty easy to create a solution.

Shortcuts: Using IFTTT
Shortcuts: Using IFTTT
Back in the Workflow days, the iOS app allowed for the triggering of IFTTT actions via a special Workflow recipe action trigger. While it worked, I actually found it quite cumbersome to configure. As a result I switched to using the IFTTT web hook trigger for triggering IFTTT actions. It turns out that in the move to Shortcuts, the app that Workflow evolved into, support for IFTTT was dropped, so I figured I’d share how to do the web hook triggering as that’s still viable.

Swift Playgrounds 4.0: First Look - MacStories
Yesterday, Apple released Swift Playgrounds 4.0, the first version of the app from which you can build an app and publish it on the App Store. That’s a big step forward for the app that started as a limited sandbox for learning to code. The app is not as capable as Xcode. Still, with support

The Ubiqitous Linking Manifesto
The Ubiqitous Linking Manifesto
Yesterday, I was catching up on some reading and I came across something rather exciting - The Ubiquitous Linking Manifesto. This might first sound like something written for a rather out there UK political party, but it is a set of logical recommendations for something that is becoming ever more important in a world so dependent upon digital information and action.

Automating Adding Screenshots to Blog Posts
Automating Adding Screenshots to Blog Posts
When I am writing blog posts for this web site, I frequently need to take screenshots on my Mac and put them into the relevant assets directory to enable them to be included in my post. While I had a way of doing this that was relatively quick and easy, I found that I always needed to subsequently rename the screenshot to something meaningful and in a format that conformed to my naming standards. I recently addressed this by developing my workflow a little and creating something new in the process.
