Itβs constantly being talked about and lusted after. Thus making it very easy to forget how stunning the younger sister Maserati is. Case and point this 1961 Maserati 3500 GT Spyder by Vignale. Ordered new by a Mrs. Teresa Mitarachi of London the car was originally finished in the striking combination of white coachwork with a black leather interior and optional Borrani wire wheels. And although it was destined for the UK market, the car was unusually ordered in a left-hand-drive configuration, presumably in readiness for any likely Continental touring. Mrs. Mitarachi kept the spyder, until 1977. It then passed through several owners eventually winding up with noted Maserati collector Ivan Ruiz. Under his ownership the car was stripped back to bare metal and underwent an extensive five-year restoration. Upon completion, the car was entered in several concours events, culminating in a memorable class win at the prestigious Amelia Island Concours dβElegance. In 2009, the car was sold again, and further restoration work was carried out by respected Maserati specialists Ital-Auto of Stuttgart who spent an additional 500-600 hours just on repaint alone. Included in the sale are its original tool roll, factory documentation, Maserati S.p.A. Certificate of Origin, detailed restoration records, and an original and extremely rare factory hardtop. Is it time to move past Marcia and spend some time with Jan? π _______________________________________________ #auto #instacar #carporn #autoporn #design #automotive #vintage #drive #classic #classiccar #collect #icon #classiccarchasers #carphotography #forsale #drivetastefully #maserati #3500 #GT #1960s #italy #luxury #maser".
