Classic Driver on Instagram: "Expectant visitors to the Geneva Motor Show in 1981 would have been greeted by this very Merak SS ‘Tipo 80’ on the glamorous Maserati stand. The ultimate iteration of the pretty V6-powered 2+2, the so-called ‘Tipo 80’ did away with the temperamental Citroën-sourced hydraulic brakes, replacing them with a more reliable and effective conventional system featuring discs at the wheels rather than on the central differential, and featured the luxurious driver-focused dashboard from the Bora. Perhaps more important to collectors is the fact that Maserati only built 65 of these run-out specials, compared to 993 ‘regular’ Merak SSs. It was likely this car’s fabulous specification – elegant Celeste Chiaro paintwork over sumptuous Senape Connolly leather with darker brown accents – that earned it the call up for the Geneva salon. Maserati first registered this Merak on a factory Modena registration (a rare characteristic indeed) before it was sold to an It...

First of all this is evidently a 5-door #r5ts and the #5ts was only available with 3-doors. Secondly the #renault5ts was never available in Australia. And last but not least this #r5 wasn't built by #Renault in France, it was built by #Toyota in South-Africa! How cool is that?!? 🇪🇺 205HP 🏳️🌈 on Instagram: "#automobilespeugeot had been building proper #familiale #stationwagons for ages (402, 403, 404 and 504). For their last true family #stationwagon they took the 458cm long #peugeot505 and extended it to 490cm. The wheelbase for the #505break was lengthened from 274cm to 290cm. The 7/8 seater was named the #505familiale. As the #peugeot #505 didn't have a Citroën like suspension, #automobilespeugeot used a different way to stop the #peugeot505wagon from sagging under heavy load. First of all the used a live-axle instead of the fully independent suspension of the #pug505 sedan. They also installed double heavy duty shock absorbers on both sides. And lastly they gave the gave the #peugeot505break a pitch forward stance. So when the #peugeot505familiale was fully loaded it was perfectly horizontal... That is not considering when in use in Africa! 🤣 Photo 3 shows the boot with all seats up. The German ad in pic 4 indicates that with all seats down the loading area...

This is the #cxbreak, the #wagon version of the #citroencx. The 7-seater #break was called the #cxfamiliale. The regular #cx was 466cm with a wheelbase of 284cm. The #citroencxbreak was 495cm long. The wheelbase was a whopping 309cm! Pic 2 shows the seating arrangement in the #citroencxfamillaile. If you have a look at photo 3 you will see that even with the all the seats up it still had a decent boot! According to #citroen the maximum bootspace is 2128 liters. As this big #citroën had hydropneumatic suspension even fully loaded it still was totally level!"

I am pleasantly surprised who I find. You are very pretty, have a charming smile, and dare I say, a gentle, humble, yet striking set of ankles. Anyway, we walk to the car, I literally remove the door from the car so you can get in. I do not place the door back on the car. You ask, ‘why aren’t you putting the door back on.’ I reply, ‘I do not want you to feel trapped in this relationship, I want you to feel comfortable and free. Think of the door as a metaphor to our relationship.’ You giggle. We start driving to our date spot. As we are cruising, I see a man walking his pet foxes. I pull over and pull out some pickled cherries I had in my pocket. You think it’s quite random, but I never leave the house without them. One of the foxes is hairless, and ironically named Harry (it’s a play on words, the word being hairy). ...

One of the foxes is hairless, and ironically named Harry (it’s a play on words, the word being hairy). You want to adopt hairless Harry. You say it’s been a lifelong dream. The man says he’d be willing to give you the fox if you allow him to visit him on the weekends. You say of course. We leave with the hairless fox. As we are driving, the fox jumps out of the open door and is violently killed. You start crying. I say, ‘wow, that was so irresponsible of you’. You, through your sobbing, say ‘what was irresponsible?’. I say, ‘who gets in a car with no door with someone they’ve never met and adopts a random hairless fox from a random man on the street.’ We break up. #JTFirstDate #Corvette".

The panel body was awesome enough and when you add the fact that the engine was behind Bowman’s head things get really good. The chassis was built by Bowman and Pete Bagnard based off of a Woody Gilmore design. The body was made by a company called J&E Fiberglass. His best event was a runner up at a PDA (professional drag racers association) event at OCIR in 1973. The car ran high 6s/low 7s.
