Brian Lohnes on Instagram: "An incredible photo from Hartford, Connecticut July 8, 1905. Engine 321 of the New York, Hartford, New Haven line turned into a runaway and crashed through the wall of the roundhouse. The locomotive was cribbed up with wood to prevent it from falling into the river and eventually dragged back into the structure. The locomotive was only 2 years old at the time and those present claim that it started by itself. After being put back on tracks and fixed it worked another 30 years without incident. Note the bricks to the right of the engine...something else had been through that wall before! #whoops #nobrakes #lookout #steam #power #heavy #locomotive #runaway #amazing #1900s #hartford #connecticut #brick"
