We now have a greater understanding of how exercise slows cancer
Tumour growth is reduced by exercise due to a shift in the body’s metabolism that means muscle cells outcompete cancer cells in the race to get sugar to grow
These microbes found in tumors promote cancer. What if we just kill them?
New studies show that bacteria help cancer cells evade the body’s immune response. Experts say this relationship could prove vital for wiping out cancer.
FaceAge, a deep learning system to estimate biological age from face photographs to improve prognostication: a model development and validation study - The Lancet Digital Health
Our results suggest that a deep learning model can estimate biological age from face
photographs and thereby enhance survival prediction in patients with cancer. Further
research, including validation in larger cohorts, is needed to verify these findings
in patients with cancer and to establish whether the findings extend to patients with
other diseases. Subject to further testing and validation, approaches such as FaceAge
could be used to translate a patient’s visual appearance into objective, quantitative,
and clinically valuable measures.
Fat in Common Cooking Oils Linked to Aggressive Breast Cancer
Scientists found linoleic acid from seed oils promotes triple-negative breast cancer growth by activating a specific protein pathway. Linoleic acid, an omega-6 fatty acid found in seed oils like soybean and safflower oil, as well as in animal products such as pork and eggs, has been shown to pro
AI Tool Reads Faces to Predict Health, Aging, and Cancer Outcomes - Neuroscience News
Researchers have developed an AI tool called FaceAge that uses facial photos to estimate biological age and predict survival outcomes in cancer patients.
