Engines, boilers and generators | TITANIC
The RMS Titanic was powered by a massive hybrid system of two four-cylinder, triple-expansion reciprocating engines (30,000 HP total) for the wing propellers and one low-pressure Parsons turbine (16,000 HP) for the center propeller, totaling over 46,000 HP. The two main engines, designed for efficiency, were ~63 feet long and ~30-40 feet high, driving the ship to 21-23 knots.
