Gotta catch them as high as possible. Seeing as many of the max damage routes I've found use this link, its worth practicing (though who knows if it will be in the full release though lol).

in that route i find the ash c5S after 5[D] too hard so i just do c5S 6S 236k

You guys do you, sick combos don't matter if you drop them. Most of the damage and good oki is better than no damage and no oki.

I expect float to be changed a tiny bit on release which might make it easier

Sol's combos have been posted to Dustloop! Everything except jump-in routes have been put in. Combos are organized by button (P's, K's, S', etc.) then by attack (c.5S, f.5S, 2S, etc.).
